PPL or 5x5 while doing MMA

Hey bros,

for years I have been training in the gym, then two years ago I went to an MMA gym and fall in love, have stopped going to the gym since but I want to go back and do both, as I am only training MMA two times a week (Tuesday and Thursday).

What kind of split can you recommend me to do?
I want to build muscle as I really miss it and get some extra strength for my MMA training.
I've though of doing a classic full body workout, but I did 5x5 years ago and I would be fatigued all the time lol, I can't keep up with doing both so I'm unsure which routine I should follow.

Preferably for most hypertrophy gains.
Full body workout 5/3/1 Monday/ Wednesday and Friday?
PPL Monday/ wendes/ Friday?
Or an Upper Lower Body workout routine?

I would go with an PPL as it would be also the most fun split, the problem is, is once a week even enough?
I can't do anything at the weekends as I also have baby, so doing any sorts of sports monday-friday is the most I can do.

Mma might be useful in a state where there arent much fatties or big roided men
Those two are annoying because they think they can fight better than a leanmaxxed mma bro

Is this sustainable? Upper Lower is usually harder than PPL.

You only train MMA 2x a week, so you are a feminine pussy and I would beat the frick out of you.

Literally any split is fine it doesn't really matter that much, normally i advice to avoid going to failure and keep volume relatively low, this obviously makes progress on the gym slower but since usually people prioritize combat sport, minimizing fatigue is important to perform well during practice but since you are only going twice per week to mma you can get away with more volume and intensity, just make sure you aren't completely spent on your mma days.
Make sure that on your lifts you do a slow eccentric, an isometric pause and a fast concentric wich will make all your lifts transferable to mma since it improves power but also a slow eccentric is great for muscle building so that's two birds with one stone.

PPL 3 times a week is worthless

Do deads 1-2x a week, squats 1x a week because it's shit for mma, and hit chest shoulders and back enough till you punch hard. Unless your opponents are so trash they want to hug and can't punch someone before they get close then yeah train like a wrestler.

Heavy dls, heavy bench, heavy cleans, big arms, and strong abs. Also technique is way more important mma isn't moving weights up and down you have to be in tune with your body.

On another note does anyone have any idea why my hooks hit so much harder than my straights? I'm thinking it's because I don't move my whole body with it as much.

Side bends brother. I'd say it's a lot better than any twist because of the ROM.

I knew somebody would be moronic enough to say that. And that's why I specified TWISTING MOTION. MOTHERFRICKER WHO GIVES A SHIT ABOUT BENDING? I'M OBVIOUSLY ASKING TO TRAIN OBLIQUES FOR PUNCHING FOR FRICK'S SAKE.

You want explosive strength, maybe some conditioning. Prioritize functional compound movements and plyometrics.
