proof that seed oils are healthy

the average person eats about 700 calories of vegetable oil (seed oil) per day.
this unnaturally high amount of polyunsaturated fat was never consumed by humans until industrial seed oils were a thing and that is SURELY ok for our health.

linoleic acid, a polyunsaturated fat in seed oil, is 40x more susceptible to oxidation than oleic acid and that is surely ok for our health.
polyunsaturated fats oxidizes easily and produces oxidation products that is toxic and safe for human health because the American Heart Association says so.

one of these oxidation byproducts is called aldehyde, a known toxin.
aldehyde is found in meals fried with vegetable oil 100 times to 200 times higher than the daily recommended limit set by the WHO but it's ok because most health organizations say consuming polyunsaturated fat is ok because it just is bro.

4-HNE, the most toxic aldehyde is produced from eating high quantities of fat that oxidizes quickly (polyunsaturated fat)
4-HNE is linked to cardiovascular and inflammatory complications, diabetes, and FRICKING ALZHEIMERS (don't worry about it though, the reason why deaths linked to Alzheimer's has quadrupled in the past 30 years is because of.. uhh... just age, dude.... uh- hum- umm- uhh it's totally normal)

the prevalence of seed oil consumption and prevalence of Alzheimer's being directly correlated is kinda weird but correlation does not equal causation lmao hahah.
the prevalence of seed oil consumption and prevalence of obesity and diabetes being directly correlated is kinda weird but correlation does not equal causation lmao hahah.
Israel, the country with a polyunsaturated fat consumption 8% higher than the US and 10-12% higher than Europe having a paradoxically high prevalence of cardiovascular problems, diabetes, and obesity is kinda weird but correlation does not equal causation lmao hahah.

seed oil being heated in an acid wash process, being neutralized, then bleached and deodorized up to 260 Celsius creates oil that is safe to consume and totally healthy lmao hahah.
studies showing that seed oils are safe is totally not funded by seed oil industry with seed oils being the 243rd most traded product and a total trade of 13.6 billion as of 2020.
vegetable oil is 100% safe for human consumption!!!

I believe it. Considering the high amount of processed food containing it (look at how many bagged/boxed foods contain palm, canola, vegetable/soý and corn oil), the fact that restaurants use it all the time due to low cost, and the prevalence of it as a "healthy" fat, it makes sense. The average person also eats way more than they should which is why the majority of the developed world is overweight/obese, so the numbers aren't unbelievable.

i think they are used in the process of making the bread.. but it must be very small amounts. How much fat can be a loaf of bread? 1g?

            Anonymous

            Depends on the bread.
Sandwich bread in general uses high amounts of sugar and oil in order to stay moist longer. Without it, they would go rock-hard in a day or two just like a proper loaf.

If you must have bread, make it yourself. Or buy a bread machine if you really can't be fricked to take 30 minutes out of your week.

yep sadly even many brands of bread have like 20% of the calories from seed oils
This is one of the major reasons behind bread intolerance.
Bread made without seed oils should only have 2% calories from fat. When you have 20% calories from fat, they added way too much seed oil.

You add fat to bread to make the texture softer and to keep the bread from drying out/going stale as quickly. Traditionally this would be olive oil or butter or something but companies these days use seed oils because they have a better shelf life.

bottled seed/vegetable oils are already rancid by the time they make it to a shelf, i can't imagine there's any difference in the ones they add to the slop.

NTA but its when carbon to carbon double bonds (so-called unsaturated bonds) are "saturated" by becoming single carbon to carbon bonds, with the valence filled out by oxygen atoms.
As a byproduct of this saturation, reactive oxygen species such as hydrogen peroxide are formed.

A long time ago some morons who don't understand the concept of correlation != causation decided that saturated fats are the root of all illnesses and obesity.
Since this discovery was made, people have gotten fatter and unhealthier with every passing year.
To answer your original questions: if you don't like the taste of animal fats, use cold pressed oils like olive or avocado.

            Anonymous

I've never cooked with avocado oil. It's pretty expensive, but I could try it sometime.

Animal fats contain saturated fats which raise blood pressure and if you consume too much calories as well so you're getting fatter they're what will build up in your arteries.

Solution is don't do a moronic fad diet like carnivore or keto, use olive oil sometimes and butter in moderation, and don't be a lardass and pack on body fat and you'll avoid the risks completely while not needing any seed oils

See but the other person that responded said saturated fats have been demonized too much. Which is it? Are they that bad?

              Anonymous

They are demonized too much as they are a symptom of overeating excessively rich foods rather than a particular cause of a health problem

Saturated fat consumption hasn't changed one bit in the past 50 years, and yet people get sicker and fatter with every year. Sneed oil consumption has doubled in the past 30 years.

Wrong, saturated fat consumption has increased along with amounts of food and total calories in general

Olive and avocado oil are made by just squeezing the fruits
