but the breasts are red in the picture?
i have lats tomorrow, what variation should i try for that? or don't even bother if i'm doing weighted pull ups and lat pull downs ?
They're more a back exercise but I put them on chest days because I struggle to do them when I've done power cleans+rows+pullups.
If you do them on a decline bench it hits chest more because you have to keep more constant tension through the movement, but you can't get quite the same lat stretch at the bottom.
I love them though, really good exercise and I don't think any lift gets you a pump like a heavy set of pullovers. My gym has a pair of 65kg dumbbells and I use one for sets of 10-15
phenomenal for serratus and building a mind-muscle connection with lats, also useful for finishing up on any chest-focused day with additional volume. but mainly the serratus thing
It's a good lift for the lats, seratus, long head of the triceps, and chest. Make it a decline pullover to target more chest and remove the triceps, add a slight incline to target the lats and triceps more. The standard is overall good for all around upper body development
Wow. Never done these before until I saw your post, these might be my new favorite exercise now. It feels so good, I can really feel my back muscles tightening and working to hoist the weight. I intentionally do them super slow I love the feeling that much. Thanks OP.
Used to do these in a super-set with skullcrushers and narrow-grip bench press using an EZ-Curl bar. Started messing up my elbow tendons though so I had to stop. Was getting crazy pumps with them though.
Love the stretch you get in the lats. Very underrated and under utilized exercise. Dosent contract the pay as strongly as a dumbbell row but the stretch is godly.
I prefer the pullover machine since it keeps constant tension on the lats.
ive never done them before, but for all the fricking threads now about them i'm going to try them my next chest day.
They're a lat exercise, anon
It can either be a lat or chest exercise depending on a couple form variations.

can these be done standing up with a high pulley?
Yes if you’re doing a straight arm pulldown
No thanks, I wear a cardigan
My cuz did these with a 70lb EZ curl bar and his clavicle came off his shoulders. He'll never lift again
Shoulda retracted his scapula. RIP dead shoulder gang +1 where the opiates at
lmao i was gonna say it looks like a sure way to frick your shoulders up

i use them as an ab exercise. is there any problem in doing so?
No problem but there are better exercises for abs like ab wheel
>ab wheel
>good
>not hanging/inverted situps
>not weighted reverse planks
STEP YOUR AB GAME UP SON THAT WHEEL SHIT IS WEAK
The tricep pump I get with these is on another level. Overall great exercise
>tricep pump
I think you might be doing them wrong
I do them by hanging from a bar, keeping arms straight and lifting the body parallel to the ground. Killer.
does nothing for me. variations of presses and flies and most importantly dips are what i do

when i do these, i get crazy doms in my upper traps
