Can anyone do this?
(no leg or hip movement allowed)
I am going to begin training explosive pushups heavily for the coming weeks.
I bet this is possible.

fuck dude i use to be able to do this but i was 160lbs with no body fat at all.
if i tried it now i'd probably just go up a few inches in the air at most.
id love to see a video do it and post it
amazing !

>Functional strength
Functional strength to push people in front of oncoming traffic?
functional strength to push up out of the way of a train or bus. if you can't do that, why even train
Seems like it's too heavy of an impact on the wrists. Just do regular or navy seals burpees, my bruddah.
I don't think I can eat enough crayons to burp.
Anon, I think if anyone could do this they wouldn’t be posting on fit they would have a YouTube channel or be a performer in some way.
This pops up from time to time and that skill is impossible. Some anon ages ago calculated that the amount of force required to do this is equal to 450kg bench or something as ridiculous. The best you can get is getting around an arms (wrist to elbow) lenght from the ground.
Perhaps with a perfect technique it would be possible.
There must be a way.
You need to have the proper body type. Long arms with big triceps to generate enough power in a small range of movement. The neck should be short so the head is above the hands. The rest of the body should be very light with neither muscle nor fat except for the calves/feet which should be very heavy.
>the amount of force required to do this is equal to 450kg bench or something
Depends entirely on your body weight and height.
As a first order approximation you have to throw ~60-80% of your body weight up to around your chest height. Work backwards to get the initial velocity and plug that into length of travel to get acceleration and force.
You can get a lot more precise but it's not gonna change that much.

Yeah, but with a fast, swift motion, and the range of motion is highly limited in proportion to the distance you need to travel based on that initial inertia.
Basically this. I've seen guys doing one handed muscle ups and other crazy shit but not even once this horizontal to vertical push up.
>it's impossib-
That's not like in OP's pic. Guy bent his knees a bit and walked upwards as soon as he could.
he didn't bend his knees but he did walk forwards a bit, it's near identical to what OP meant though and it sure as shit does not require 450kg bench levels of force
Ah, sorry, he raised his ass up to move weight on his legs easier.
It is close, but not same.
In OP's pic you hold your core straight all the way till you stand up. No stepping forward or raising your ass.
this isnt really perfect but I am pretty sure he did it perfectly too, take some tips from him ig

He isn't even black.
Ive seen something like it in one of Browneys pushup record videos but cheating with hips and such so not really.
I have long arms and short legs and I'm a manlet but I can only get like halfway up. I imagine if I practiced it a bit and lost all non essential muscle weight that it would be possible but I would look stupid and wouldn't even be any stronger.
