          if it's just your muscles you can hit back as long as you don't strain that area

    I seem to have a sticking point with my bench press.

    If I warm up with something light, I can knock out 225 x 10, but on the end of the 7th rep, I start to feel weak and I have to really struggle to push out the last two reps.

    My max PR is 250 x 4 reps.

    I would like to get to the point where I can hit 225 x 10 for 3 sets. I can even bench 240 for 8 reps.

    My sets usually look like 225 x 8, 225 x 7 225 x 6, 225 x 6.

    Any tips on knocking out a consistent 10 reps for 225? I am in my mid 40s.

      Try pushing the heavier weights a bit, if you can push your PR to 260x5 the sets of 10 at 225 will be a lot easier. You can also practice getting higher reps on drop down sets with a slingshot.

      there's no good alternative with dbs because you can't hold enough weight to achieve a good level of stimulus but I guess you can just do db deadlifts?

        That's what I've been doing but I've maxed out the weight I have (only have 50lbs per dumbell). I'm planning on joining a gym in a couple months when I cut back on rooning and have more time to lift after a race in July, but was looking for an alternative in the mean time. I guess just stick at the max weight and do more reps/sets?

    How many gym sessions a week are necessary for aesthetics, if I'm an intermediate lifter? Is 3 enough or can I get away with 2? I run 5x a week as well, so I'm kinda worn out at times

      I assume you mean optimal hypertrophy

      training muscles twice a week is THE minimum and depending on which parts are lagging behind you would hit them more often

      3 times a week fullbody would do you well if you can't go any more often

      haven't lifted since 15th of this month, made the decision to start again on the first of next month cause of financial reasons. how much strength and muscle would I have lost by then? didn't keep much of a track on macros during this period. I feel like absolute shit right now since this is probably the longest I've ever gone without exercise. the longest before this would have been maybe a week of vacation.

    Is it better to hit all exercises for a muscle one after another or stagger them.

    I'll use leg day as an example, is it better to do 5 sets of leg press, then straight to 3-4 sets of leg extension for quads then move to hams, or is it better to do leg press, then leg curl, then back to leg extension after your quads have recovered a bit?

    I've been doing the latter.

      unless you're doing a light workout specifically for achieving a pump

    Did my first workout of squats and press with just the bar the other day. It felt pointless and easy as I managed many reps. Today’s workout is deadlift and bench. Should I add some weight to make it challenging or just stick with the bar only for now.

      Did someone to tell you to just do the bar the first day? I'd warm up with the bar then put a little weight on. Look up proper form and don't snap your back/shoulders/neck

    Does taking this help with cutting?
    I'm not Obese or even overweight, but I'm having difficulties reaching 15% BF, currently stuck at 18%.
    Currently at 1600 cal, If I lower to 1200 cal, I start losing muscle mass and BF% increase.
    Any ideas?

    Any suggestions for getting over mental blocks with food? I've danced with anorexia in the past and thought I successfully moved past it, however I'm becoming increasingly "grossed out" by food of any kind. I know how to cook well, I try to keep my diet varied and recently devoid of any seed oils, HFCS and excess sugar, but I'm at a point where the only way I can get my calories in is in liquid form, whether it's protein shakes or the veggie smoothies I make occasionally. I hate it. I want to enjoy food again so I can get the most out of my workout and health routine.
