Qutting weed thread

Not here to argue over the word addiction
Here to help people quit
If you smoke trash weed a few times a week this thread isn't for you
I'm talking my heavyweight weedheads smoking that FrickYoLifeUp daily for 10+ years straight

Be willing to brainwash yourself either through a spiritual path, or practical skills, or a psychedelic trip. The steps of AA and similar programs are a self-renewal process. Regardless you aren't going to undo the damage you've been doing to your mind overnight. You have been putting a chemical in your brain that changes how you think, feel, and behave. Your behavior, thinking patterns, and emotions are highly tethered to your weed use. Your personality is altered because of the drug your brain has been on. You WILL become a different person in a year now. You WILL have a new brain, a new mind, and a new life.

You WILL have to dig deep and understand the traumas and events in your life that cause you to live the lifestyle you do. You WILL have to create a new philosophy for yourself, and maintain a lifestyle that will support your sobriety, otherwise youre just a dry drunk waiting to relapse. Your weed habit is the SYMPTOM, its a behavior you've embraced to cope with other problems. Find out what those problems are and fix them.

    Big 3:
    Eating, Sleeping, Exercise
80% of your effort should be put into staying on top of your Big 3 as it affects everything else significantly. If you aren't getting sleep all of the other treatments are hardly effective.

    Social Support:
    Meditation Groups
    Recovery/AA Groups
    Yoga Classes and Workshops
    Hobby Clubs
    Dance Classes

    Catalysts to detox:
    Coffee
    Cardio
    Sauna/Steam
    Stretching
    Massage Therapy

    Supplements:
Fish Oil, or just fresh seafood
    Pregnenalone
    Choline
    DHEA
    Dianabol if enhanced
    Piracetam and other racetams
    Psilocybin Mushrooms
    Probiotics

    Things to avoid:
Being alone with thoughts for a long time
Replacing socializing with social media, chan, reddit, games, etc
    Extreme violent or sexual content

Opposite Actions (things to do opposite of your habit)
Take a Bike Ride or Cook Breakfast when you wake up instead of rolling a J
Do deep breathing to make yourself feel relaxed
Go to a public place to work instead of alone at home
Pick up the phone and text/call someone instead of getting weed, even if it annoys them, frick them, youre using them to keep yourself sober, this is YOUR life.

    Harm reduction methods:
Weigh your weed before smoking so you know exactly how much youre habitually consuming and taper down from there
Only smoke when _______ (at night, on vacation, after work, after gym)
Pre-roll your joints so its less of a ritual to smoke
Get rid of stoner paraphernalia laying around and triggers to smoke
Don't smoke the same place that you work, drive, relax, etc otherwise those places will become triggers to smoke
Buy small quantities and making buying weed inconvenient
Delay. When you get the urge to smoke, just wait. You can still smoke if the urge doesn't go away, but it usually will pass within 20 minutes. This works for all cravings.
Distract. Do something more distracting than smoking.
Self Soothe. Steam room, massage, a nice meal, sex with an escort, whatever will calm you down.

This was a freewrite based on my experiences but ill make a real guide later.

We need more research done on the chemistry on cannabis, and the effects of cessation.

Allof the studies out there are bullshit and inconclusive. Ex: a 40 year old who started smoking trash weed once a week in his 30s is not gonna have the same chemical reaction as someone who has been smoking dabs and high-potency California weed 5x a day for 10 years straight. But studies dont consider these variables.

Still seeking more supplementation that can help curb the withdrawals that usually cause extreme irritability, violent behavior, racing thoughts, distorted memories, extreme thinking, insomnia, vomiting, IBS, loneliness rushes, etc

just reduce your weed intake to the point where a single one hitter can get you high for hours.
don't smoke every day and only smoke really high quality weed
it's just like coffee, it's fine in small controlled bursts (espresso), but you shouldn't guzzle it like a trucker with a jug of java

After smoking/vaping weed for over a decade pretty much ever day (14-28) I suddenly came to the realization that I don't even really prefer being high compared to sober. I completed quit cold turkey over a month ago and have had absolutely zero temptation to go back. It's almost like it was just something I enjoyed doing because I was bored similar to how some people eat when they're bored. If you want to quit just ask yourself when you get high if this is something that you actually want to feel or not, then ask the same thing when you're sober, I came to the conclusion that being sober was the preferable state of mind. I feel a lot better now, sleep better, been having interesting dreams and don't feel dead tired all day. You can do it.

Was addicted for a couple years, smoking everyday. I exchanged my weed addiction for a gym addiction now & only smoke about once a week.

Quitting was the best choice I ever made.

Just stop you moron it's not hard. There's no physical withdrawal, you're just a pussy that can't even tell themselves "no". I smoked weed like a fiend, high 24/7 from like 17-30, just stop it's not hard.

Biology literally proves you wrong stop gaslighting anyone who goes through withdrawals.
There's a whole system biochemical changes that occur inside your body upon cessation that have been documented by multiple studies.

Another demoralization account posting bullshit to gaslight people who want to quit. Shut the frick up and go back to being a moron.

There's a bunch of different arguments for/against pot but the two that are most compelling to me are:
    1. Regulating your own dopamine is terrible. It destroys your motivation and reward center because all the dopamine receptors get flooded with thc when you choose to and get desensitized to natural production.
    2. It reduces your time spent in REM sleep, which negatively affects memory formation, restfulness, and intelligence.
Also there seems to be a pretty strong relationship between pot use and being a loser.

Literally restrict yourself to one bong every Friday and Saturday night. Quit for four weeks beforehand to detox and there you fkn go.

Quitting everything - tobacco, weed, alcohol, harder drigs- was easy. All I had to do was get regular sex.
