funny how rare organs are in a western diet when all the other predators in nature know instinctively livers and hearts are the most nutrient dense thing you can get from prey

funny that pirates would go from shore to shore looking for buried treasure when the real treasure was in the friendships they were making

    Expensive.

it's like $5 for a pack of em and you should only be eating like 1 a week so that's literally less than $1 a week

$5/lb is expensive. I refuse to pay that on principle. Offal is supposed to be cheap shit. I remember getting it from a butcher for $1.29/lb not 10 years ago, now it's more expensive than chuck roast.

Its a meme but not a meme. Unnecessary unless youre doing a hugely restrictive diet like carni which unless you have legit health issues is just fad shit.
My diet is pretrt much on point, tried eating liver for a few months and it made no difference whatsover. Its disgusting and almost the same price as actually delicious cuts of beef so I simply stopped eating it.

Probably tastes like ass. You can get cow liver pills though.

Tastes fine if you soak it in milk. The difficulty comed from potentially overcooking

I think it's better just seared in butter like you would a steak. I've done it dipped in flour and cooked with onions and didn't like it as much

The main problem with liver is that it's TOO nutritious: you can overdose on vitamin A/heme iron if you eat it with any amount of regularity. Diet should be intuitive, and you should be asking yourself, "how often would my ancestors have access to this?". Liver is an organ meat, which animals possess only one of, so figure it out. Eating more than one a week is too much.

      >you can overdose on vitamin A
i ate 3 ounces of beef liver a day and i was just fine. overdosing on vitamin A is a complete meme, and has only happened from eating polar bear liver.
      >heme iron
sure, but i suppose i dont have to worry about this since i have iron deficiency (which is why i eat liver in the first place). however, you can just donate blood to prevent iron overload.

Make sure it's fresh or it'll taste fucking gross

      >Make sure it's fresh or it'll taste fucking gross
this is very important. i ate some liver from an older cow and it tasted disgusting. liver from younger cows are decent enough that you can eat it raw and without soaking it in milk

You eat it, it's great for you, you feel better after a few weeks. Enjoy. If you don't eat animals you won't eat it and I don't care.

liver is super healthy but i cant stand the texture or taste of it so i never eat it

is there something else as healthy as liver?

Try patè or liverwurst. Alternatively pig or chicken liver have much more milder flavors. If texture is rubbery you probably overcooked it
