Do you see those small roundish rainbow coloured thing? Sugar. Yep, all sugar. Do you need that much refined sugar? Do you need any at all? Think anon. Think.

That stuff is incredibly calorie dense, and it happens to be my kryptonite. I can't even have it in the house. I'll accidentally eat 2,000 calories (then shit like mad for the next two days).

I make my own trail mix with almonds, peanuts, and dark chocolate m&ms and it saves my calorie intake because I'm a lanklet.

it is pretty 'bad' for you unless you are burning a shit load of calories a day. youd be better off with just plain nuts. almonds and that costco trail mix is the same amount of calories per cup but the almonds have much less sugar and salt. the salt isnt horrible for you if you drink enough water but theres too damn much in that trail mix. makes it addictive with the salt and sugar.

Never understood why this was "hiking snack". It's just rubbish sugar and lots of fat. Sure, it's a source of energy but jerky would be thousand times better for energy and as an emergency food.

Sugar is good for hiking because it provides immediate energy
Fat, not so good because long slow release of energy
Mix of carbs would and some sugar be ideal
      Protein is for repair afterwards

literally what? protein is legitimately fricking useless and not needed. im not even trolling, hittin your "protein goal" is only important if you want to be a bodybuilder. having beef jerky with 0 carbs is probably single-handedly the worst and most useless thing you could have for a hiking snack.

dont get me wrong, i love meat. i eat minimum of 1lbs every single day but pic related is million times better as an energy source than chewing on some fricking beef jerky.

If protien wasn't a usable source of energy then your body wouldn't break down muscle after fat in its starvation process. And anyone one a protein only diet would be dead.

i had it for two 60 km three-day trips, it makes the already dry mix easier to eat, and ended up losing weight after all

Great for bulking, especially if it has candy.

are you serious or trolling? because bulking is exactly what im trying to do.

Why would I be trolling? trail mixes have calorie-dense foods that are very easy to eat out of the bag and can make bulking trivial with very little downsides.
Adding something like chocolate to that only makes it better for that purpose.

Have you tried looking at the nutrition label? That should clear things up for you. You can do it, anon. Just turn the bag around and read.
