My man, you already know the answer. Of course it's slop. It's also made from beans, which are a shit poverty-tier food with no nutrition. If you want to know if something is good or not, just compare it to steak and ask yourself "Is this around as good as steak is?"

    slop
    slŏp
    noun
    Spilled or splashed liquid.
    Soft mud or slush.
    Unappetizing watery food or soup.

I drink raw whole milk from a local farm who delivers. I cook with butter from the grocery store and I make sure it only has 1 ingredient: cream (most butters at my store have "natural flavor," which is horrifying). I tried kefir but the farm I buy milk from's kefir is too bitter lol. I used to eat (whole plain) yogurt but stopped, but I think it's great. I just prefer other things to snack on and it's not something you eat with a meal. Same thing with cottage cheese. My girlfriend eats cheese, I don't. Just not into it. I do not eat ice cream. I eat sour cream by adding it to whatever meals. I used to eat cream cheese with honey but then I realized I was just eating it for calories, so I stopped doing that, even though I did think it was tasty. Eating carbs + fat at the same time bypasses your satiety mechanisms, so you can eat a lot of calories at once by eating something like that (this is the basis of junk food, loaded with PUFAs & refined sugars). Thanks for listening to my TED talk lol.

I think the ability for a creature, specifically a human being, to be able to adapt and resource off of whatever it can get is a very admirable thing. May I ask? If you were taken out of a controlled area (i.e. your home) and forced to re-locate or perpetually travel or do anything that didn't involve being home and eating the same exact 'homemade' meals a everyday. Would you survive? Would you be able to adapt? To navigate and adjust yourself to the conditions before you? I don't believe so, you just seem too tempered. unmanipulable, unchanging, and most of all, insufficient. I would put your value in a situation that was worth thinking about at 3/10 just for the stand alone fact of how stubborn you are. Stubborn about such superfluous things.

      >actual nutritious food like chickpeas
lol I have legitimately never heard anyone call hummus a "health food" except fat women. Would you like to name any specific health benefits of chickpeas? inb4 muh fiber.
      >people live long healthy lives eating grains
Yup the average person eats 20x more grains than people did 100 years ago and we are just way healthier now what with our incredibly low obesity rate (40%), overweight rate (75%), diabetes rate (9%), and so on.

Beans, too, have been noted as a food of great health and prosperity throughout the past thousands of years. Great kings and knights have feasted on beans for thousands of years, and, to the poor, they've only been considered a luxury. Oh wait that's actually incorrect because beans have always been and forever will be poverty-tier survival food.

only reason people are overweight and have high diabetes is because of overconsumption of food especially processed food, not because of beans LOL.

Oh you think beans are grains. No wonder you are so confused. Well I'll be the one to tell you that you are confused and beans and grains are different things. Well just re-read my post and let me know what you think now that you learned they're different.

The fact that people in poverty have been able to consistently survive on little more than beans for centuries literally shows how healthy and complete they are as a food. Whatever status they may have economically or socially is completely irrelevant.

Yes, meat is good but you shouldn't be choking on butter and meat 24/7, what would actually help Americas obesity problem is getting rid of processed food and more veggies and fruits and legumes, and maybe not stuffing your face with calorie dense foods such as butter and lard 24/7 keto and carnivore is unsustainable.

Are you implying that butter is causing the obesity crisis...? lol wtf are you smoking. source is USDA btw.
          >hurp durp just eat more fruits & veggies
This has been mainstream advice for the past 30 years and obviously that's not working. Hm it's almost like "just eat more fruits & veggies" doesn't solve the root cause that Americans are chronically nutrient-deficient and desperately stuffing their face with junk food to get certain micronutrients you can't find in fruits or vegetables. You have no idea what you're talking about, especially since you think Americans are "stuffing their faces with butter and lard." Such a stupid homosexual.

Butter and Oil is obviously more calorie dense than the other macro nutrients, so yes too much consumption of it you can very easily go past your calorie limit.
            >This has been mainstream advice for the past 30 years and obviously that's not working.
dumb homosexual is because most Americans don't actually eat enough veggies and fruits, obviously the ideal would be that they do. They consume processed food with shit tons of oil and other chemical bullshit that the body doesn't need. do you actually see Americans getting fat from eating too many veggies and fruits LOL? I'm not denying that animal based products have good nutrients but the solution to america obesity problem is not gonna be solved by making the already fat and obese american consume more meat and butter, as these tends to be calorie dense.

              Anonymous

So you are claiming that butter, the consumption of which has gone down since 1970, is responsible for making Americans fat? I want to clarify because you are not answering the question, the answer to which should be extremely obvious after I posted the chart.

moron I never said butter or even implied that butter is what's causing american to be fat, however it problably doesn't fricking help if your fat to be eating shit tons of butter when fat has 9 calories compared to other macros like protein that have 4, at the end of the day the best way to lose weight is through CICO, not reddit fad diets.

With that aside, you realize "CICO" isn't a diet, right? You realize you can "eat more meat and butter" and still lose weight through CICO, right? You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about because you think hunger comes from your stomach being empty because your knowledge of digestive physiology didn't advance past middle school.

Most of the supermarket ones are made with cheap oil (basedbean, etc). Though if they have a large selection you can usually find one made without any. I'd buy that or something with advocado or olive oil. I'm gaining too much weight eating this stuff though since I only eat it with flatbread which by itself is easily 150~ calories.

Just in case we have any vegans ITT I want to remind everyone:
    - The brains of vegans crave meat desperately, even if they say otherwise [1]
    - Vegans are depressed and anxious because of a lack of multiple B-vitamins, especially B12 [2]
    - Vegans have low-quality sperm [3]
    - Avoid onions at all costs [4]

    >Twenty-four vegetarians and twenty-one omnivores were instructed to either passively look at the pictures or to change the appetitive value of the food
    >In contrast with the subjective data, no group differences were observed in any of the ERP measures, suggesting that similar neural processing of food-cues occurred in vegetarians and omnivores both during passive viewing and cognitive reappraisal.
    >Overall, our findings suggest that, in vegetarians, aversion towards nonvegetarian food prevails at the subjective level and is consistent with their personal beliefs. In contrast, at the neural level, the intrinsic motivational salience of this type of food is preserved.

    >Meat consumption was associated with lower depression and lower anxiety compared to meat abstention.
    >Compared to vegans, meat consumers experienced both lower depression and anxiety.
    >The analysis also showed that the more rigorous the study, the more positive and consistent the relation between meat consumption and better mental health.
