    People really overestimate how calorie dense it is for some reason. 1/2cup of dry rice is plenty filling for me when eaten with proteins and veg. People saying its pure sugar or empty carbs are full of shit, even white rice is decently fibrous and has a bit of protein. In Japan they eat rice with nearly every meal and that country has the lowest obesity rate on the planet, clearly it's not fattening.

      Here is whole grain oats for comparison which people here always shill as the best grain. Brown rice is only very marginally less nutritious but its much easier to prepare and work into dishes.

        Oats are the same as rice if not easier to cook with. It’s an American thing that they have to be sweet and with breakfast. Oats are delicious with beef carrots and onions. I make a simple porridge with them all the time. It is as easy as pouring them in with a little water or milk once the veggies have softened and the meat is browned. I like both rice and oats however, I just see them as another grain to mix things up with.

    Rice is okay, it has some vitamin and minerals, but lacks fiber and protein. It is very plain which is its greatest advantage and drawback as it can be added to almost anything without changing the flavor much. It is very cheap as well which is good. There are better grains out there, but nothing wrong with rice tbqh and if you enjoy it include it in your diet

    It's one of the best post-workout carbs for bodybuilders because it won't cause bloating. Most breads have added sodium and other grains/starches too much fiber which is a bad thing when you need your stomach to be as flat as possible.

    I have been eating 1kg of rice a day for the last 2 years and im 85kg 10% bf at 190cm. Once I said this here someone told me I might get poisoning but been going great so fat. I ate other foods as well

    It tastes good and it's a relatively healthy side dish for multiple other foods. If you're trying to lose weight, it's kind of high in carbs and calories, but if you're maintaining or bulking then it's fine.
