My own anecdotal experience, from someone who was not athletic at all pre-transition (a 270lb neet), is this.
Compared to women my size, my cardio is consistently significantly better. However I'm physically weaker than almost every woman I meet that actually works out, even those significantly smaller than me.
This makes sense. My viscera did not change size with transition, however due to my lack of ovaries, my Testosterone levels are consistently lower than 99% of women, leading to low strength in spite of decent muscle size.
Should I be allowed to compete with women? I dunno, maybe? If I wanted to become a powerlifter it'd be fair. But if I wanted to get into Running, I couldn't in clear conscious do something like that.
I'm personally training to compete in Boxing, and when I do I plan on always being a weight class below my opponent, to balance out any advantages I may or may not have.
I don't want to be at an advantage, that would make me dysphoric, but I wouldn't mind being at a disadvantage.
