Probably the opposite. It's cutting into their bottom line.

This. Can't make money off of fasting so they say it's bad. Also, it's likely fat fricks try this self report then have a heart attack. Correlation does not equal causation.

This "study" is a joke. First of all, without even getting into the issues with this ridiculous pseudo-science, what would the mechanism for this be in the first place? It makes zero physiological sense. Second, it's based on TWO DAYS of survey data of people who skipped breakfast. That's literally it. Third, something like 10% of the participants were drinkers (and the amount they drank was not specified) and a percentage of them had cardiovascular disease to begin with. The fact that this was published and given such wide coverage was fricking absurd.

        >not eating makes you live longer
        Actually yes.

        Shut it fat Black person.
Humans can survive weeks without food and you can't even fast for 6 hours. Why? Because are a loser. Frick you

If only we had a 2 billion people who fasted at regular intervals. That could prove this BS wrong.

Look at the stats of muslim countries, say Malaysia, and look at their heart attacks plotted on a graph, there's no spikes during ramadan.

Simple to disprove, probably something else, like the fact that people who go on diets/fast are already fat and at risk of heart attacks.

    >They reviewed information about dietary patterns for participants in the annual 2003-2018 National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) in comparison to data about people who died in the U.S., from 2003 through December 2019, from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Death Index database.
They literally based their 'research' on a survey, kek.

I came to the same conclusion. Same with so many studies, is the health issues due to being fat/sedentary etc. or due to the "studied" issue. So many of the people studied are so fricking unhealthy they would have health issues eating the cleanest, most healthy foods around Id assume.

It's the logical thing to assume. Extreme diets are more popular with unhealthy people, especially those that cut carbs (easy calories that active people need).

There is an actual reason for this..
    > For years, researchers told us that having a small amount of alcohol was good for you
    > It took researchers years to realize that the people who drink no alcohol included formerly severe alcoholics
    > Changed the survey question to account for this and it showed that alcohol had no health benefit whatsoever
People who are trying to lose weight probably includes people who are severely overweight

Learn to understand statistics and studies, moron. The reason it's linked to heart attack is because it's mostly FAT FRICKS trying to lose weight who are fasting, not because getting less fat causes to you have a heart attack.

Well think about this, most people died young throughout history, 30s 40s if youre lucky. Having kids at 12 13 14 was normal. Fasting is gay as you lose muscle

the first part is false, as large childhood mortality brought the average down. if you survived childhood the odds were good that you would live into your 60's

Likely a case of statistics being taken in a vacuum. People practicing IF and OMAD are more likely to be obese people trying it to lose weight, and obese people are more likely to have cardiovascular problems than skinny people who just eat normally because never struggled with portion control.

From my personal experience as an actual moronic fattie, I feel like these kind of topics are too "in the weeds" for the majority of the obese, when the real problem is the huge amount of shit you are eating.
For example I went to a gastroenterologist today and she recommended me 3 meals a day and at least a 12 hour period to pass between dinner and next breakfast. So at least she's aware that there are some benefits to keep some distance between meals.
But for me the biggest most obvious problem is that I'm guzzling 3+ liters of Coca Cola every day on top of other junk I eat plus the regular food. Do you really think it would make a difference if I drink all the Coca Cola in a single hour every day? Or if I made sure I only drank Cola in the amount less than my maintenance calories?
And I think that's the case with most landwhales. Cut the obvious garbage severally and you'd see a lot less obesity very quickly.

OMAD is a IST joke. You should be eating 5-6 smaller meals a day, and focusing on grains as your lead food source. Don't listen to the 'bro science' you hear about on IST, this is the site that bullied small girl Jessi Slaughter remember!

You have no idea how many people who "eat in an 8-hour window" aren't fitness types doing IF, but moronic wagies that can't be fricked to cook, don't have access to food at work and stuff their faces with fastfood after. I think truckers are a good example, these dudes will drive for the whole day, then do one giant feast at the first mcdonalds they have access to and can spend time at.

The other groups that eat very little all day are:
Alcoholics, who drink all their calories
Hard drug addicts, not a lot of obese meth and fent users.

This time we don’t know because it isn’t published yet but the assumption that they didn’t consider other factors is rarely true in threads like this

Yup, that's was me until recently. I've been technically "fasting" for years because I skip breakfast and lunch when I'm too busy with work (almost always), and then I stuff my face with a lot of garbage in the afternoon because I was too tired/stressed out from work.

Science is absolutely fricking bankrupt, and most academics deserve to be drawn and quartered in the town square. Look up the replication crisis. It's publish or die for those fricks, so they'll publish any old shite, with no regard for the truth. Did you know that they choose their own peer reviewers? That's right, researchers can choose who reviews their stupid, un-replicable fricking studies.

Modern science is a joke, studies are almost all scams, there's nothing of value produced in academia for decades now. Frick all of them, they're liars, scumbag scammers, fricking israelites and Black person-loving homosexuals.
