Can you please explain why I should hex machine deadlift using low handles?

because the high handles make it pointlessly easy by reducing the distance traveled
its like if you did curls but only moved your arm 4 inches

I like it but not as a replacement for conventional. I feel it a lot in my glutes (fine with me) but really nowhere else.

I just really want to be GOOD at actual SBD so I don't want to dick around with the cope versions of those movements.

But trap is fine every once in awhile if my back gets too spicy

Yes, puts less stress on your lower back. Works as a great alternative to replace both the deadlift and squat.

Depends on your goals. Totally fine if you don't care about your numbers on conventional, just make sure your accessories compensate for the difference.

    completely? no
    some of them? maybe
    rarely? yes
Id do them only when my lower back/posterior chain is too sore for conventional. Trap bar does give some nice leg workout.

Why not just use dumbells at this point as opposed to this whacky shit

I did 190kg trap deadlift the other day at 82kg it's a lot easier to keep your back straight and a straight bar path on your centre of gravity.

It's closer to conventional than sumo lifting and conventional awkward as frick because you don't naturally bend over almost perpendicular with the floor to quad drive and hip extend over 400lbs off the ground. It's the reason why so many people have problems with it and why all powerlifters do sumo now.

People act like the trap bar is a hack squat machine. No, you bend over to grab the handles, even the high handles. Why are so many dyels pretending there is no hip extension? LOOK AT THE FRICKING PICTURE.

The minority crying about it are only crying about it because it's not a barbell. The human body does not give a shit if it's a barbell or not it just needs the resistance.

      >but you're WRONG!!! >:(
Alright sub 3pl8er. Keep doing it I don't care.

If picking up dumbbells is a deadlift for you, you're literally weaker than my grandma.

I'm gonna start doing them soon-ish since I almost snapped my lower back with conventional, my plan is trap bar>sumo>back to conventional around October
I'm mostly focusing on core strength and lower back strength now, I got real spooked lads

I nearly snapped my back pulling conventional. Took a couple of weeks off deadlifts as I was spooked and sore. I started doing sumo instead, feels better, form is better too.

They can be good for people with disc issues in their back. They are perfectly fine replacement for everyone except powershitters whos whole purpose of deadlifting is to deadlift. For everyone else, yes you can replace it with this.

      I support this Black,
      It hits the same muscles,
If your goal is strength or aesthetics this is an excellent replacement that is still form intense and heavy weight yet safe for the spine.

If this is a serious question that article is worth a read. I do both lo handle hex-bar and conventional deadlift, usually alternating each week/training session or whenever I feel like it.
