running is fine, but the treadmill specifically is terrible for your joints because youre not pushing off the ground. All impact with none of the benefits.
It's the opposite, actually. Treadmills are the best for your joints because there are shocks in them to absorb your impact. They are even better for your joints than running on a track.
Imagine choosing to spend your free time exercising on a machine rather than going out to a nice park, seeing the world around you and feeling the fresh air on your face. I will never understand the point of treadmills unless you actually live in a total shithole
I didn't say I like treadmills, I said they're the best for your joints. I'd rather run in winter conditions on concrete and risk another roundd of knee surgery than run on a treadmill. I just acknowledge that the treadmill would be objectively healthier for my joints.
Frick yes, being cardio-able is a great feeling.
I had to run up the stairs to 4th floor yesterday - when I reached the top I was amazed that my breathing hasn't even changed. Running 5K three times/week for a year really paid off.
frick treadmills though
>non-cardio gay
enjoy being out of breath after one flight of stairs
