After months of excruciating cardio and fat loss exercises I've finally read the sticky and realized that I was shooting myself in the foot trying to lose weight by exercising. Only now realize that I can do that by merely eating less and counting calories.
I was moronic and was exercising and eating a lot since it made me hungry.
Now it's been a month without going to the gym and eating less and I've already lost 15 pounds.
Thanks IST.
Wish I knew sooner could of save me a lot of time and money.

    yeah back a few summers ago i took about 6 weeks off from the gym because i was too lazy to go and i wanted a break, and when i came back to the gym i was shredded as frick
    i think it's because when i was lifting, the high intensity training made me hungry, but when i was sitting around doing nothing, i ate much less food and burned off lots of fat
    i did lose some muscle mass but i lost much more bodyfat and shedded lots of water retention

        i'm a naturally skinny guy so my natural leanness came around after avoiding the gym + consistent eating

    I lost 35lbs over 4 months lifting 4 times a week, cardio 5-6 times a week while eating under maintenance.

    Anyway, yeah, fat loss is about calorie intake. Muscle gain is also about calorie intake, but with the addition of picking up heavy things and putting them down again.

    It's diet. Always has been. Diet is related to how much fat you possess. Exercise AND diet is related to how much muscle and muscle strength you possess. It's not a hard concept to be honest.
