Roider's Conundrum

Yesterday some anon made a copium post (not picrel) about how one can never really be jacked natty because roiders have elevated public expectations so far that a genuinely well-built but moderate physique does not register as /fit in comparison to the meatwalls out there.

Now whilst this post was an absolute joke, I think it had *some* merit. I think normies can generally recognise somebody who actively looks after themselves but I think the public have truly lost touch with how insane some of the physiques out there are. A few years ago even I would be a bit surprised when a guy who's lifted for a few years achieves "'only"' ottermode at best; I of course know better now.

Thoughts?

When I first started lifting I assumed everyone got really jacked and it was something you had to avoid doing.

10 years later I realized most people barely make any noticeable gains no matter how hard they train

Shit is funny how delusional newbie lifters are like i once was

Not everything you think is true

Been lifting on and off since the age of 11, am now 26, have accumulated years of gains

Anabolic steroids did not exist for most of history yet strong people have

It is possible to train poorly and make slow progress as well

You have to do some serious mental contortion to think that you need drugs to get strong

The roiders haven't fricked with the public's perception or with the perceptions of average women, they've fricked with *yours*. Normal people and especially normal women say things like "too big" or "too muscly" or "that looks freakish, idk it's just unnatural" all the time, you just don't fricking listen because roidtrannies claim they're all lying to cope.

Yes exactly, the whole steroid market revolves around professional athletes and insecure men who are convinced they need it to make progress

This is how the drugs keep flowing, it's a scheduled substance, you buy it from a drug dealer

Consider the motivations of someone who makes a profit from selling drugs that kill you

It depends. For women, natty ottermode physiques are the most attractive (someone post the pic), they don't find gigantic muscle-bound beasts attractive at all. For men, we can't help but feel inadequate when the next guy is bigger than us, no matter how gigantic and unnatural he is. Us nattys will always be mogged by roid freaks, but we'll always be more attractive to women.

From what I hear and see around, roiders only attract bimbo type women with appropriate mental issues. As far as what kind of men find roiders inspiring, they are never bright as well.

Absolute majority of sane people, men and women, would consider someone like brad pitt in fight club or patrick bateman to have a great body, and you definitely need no roids for that.

So in general, I don't think it's what normies think, but people with mental problems and various stages of body dysmorphia (which can also be expressed outwardly in how you see other people bodies), be it women, or other men.

Natty is a joke now. Being a natty who is in top shape registers as “oh he jogs and probably does some pull ups. Maybe plays some weekend sports.” Being on TRT is the standard now for “natty” fitness gurus. Half my gym is on gear in some form. It is over if you are a natty now, you will always just register as “in shape” to normies. The average normie now thinks fitness tubers like the hodge twins are natty. Hell most normies think liverking and Larry Wheels are natty. Jeff cavalier who ironically is probably natty, is just seen as a slightly fit guy.

This is body dysmorphia in action. Full-on hallucinations about the thoughts in other people's heads. They may SAY things like "that looks weird tbh" when I show them a picture of Larry fricking Wheels looking like the incredible hulk, bulging with veins while he rips gorilla weights off the floor, but they're all secretly thinking that he looks like a normal natural person who just works out a lot and looks really good.

I know I have good genes.
There is a variation, definetely, but I very commonly see dudes who train for years, never acquire the proper technique never progress in strength and keep talking about natty limits and poor genes.
Everyone can build an impressive physique, the gene factor comes in when you talk about who is going to be an elite freak.

Exactly bro, the mechanics/science of training is neglected for easy answers like gurus and one-size-fits-all programs

If you truly understand the mechanics of hypertrophy then you can leverage that knowledge to make crazy gains

A lot of "hard gainers" are just training poorly, it goes beyond the weightroom into your diet and sleep as well

You just don’t have an understanding of how important genetics are, I was also always accused of gear before I ever got on it, and my friend trained with me followed the same routine and ate properly, was making consistent progress, but he wasn’t getting anywhere near the results I was getting. That’s not to say there aren’t many out there who don’t train hard enough or they are lazy with their diets, but most guys won’t be able to look as good as you natty even with training and diet perfect.

I know, but I was answering to OP, they are absolutely able to get big and noticably jacked so that people will look at them and go holy shit that's a buff dude even though social media and media in general are full of roiders people still respond positively to a nice physique

                Anonymous

I think the OP is making the mistake in realizing that you can never look truly exceptional natty with the idea that you can’t look impressive or good. Yea you aren’t going to be the guy with a 1 in a 100,000 physique walking around natty that some people will have stronger reactions to. But you can easily be a top 0.5% of physiques which people will still notice not just as fit but as impressive.

You can though, the problem is peoples warped idea of what a best physique is, paired with the fact that modern diet and living has completely tanked the average health/attractiveness of the population.

There's a big variation in what is genetically possible. Just because you have good genetics for muscle building doesn't mean it's easily doable for others and although you want to take all the credit for it due to your hard work you put in, which I don't doubt, it may just be that you've been blessed by great genetics. It's like a tall, handsome guy claiming his success with women comes from being charming. Yeah, maybe he's really charming and charismatic, but maybe that's just one piece of the puzzle.

A rough estimate for muscle gains in the first year of training, assuming proper diet and training, is between 5 and 15 lbs. Half the people are going to make around 10lbs, some of the remaining people less and some more. There are outliers that make 20+ lbs. So it's entirely possible that you being on the upper end of average make 3x the gains in the first year than someone on the lower end of average. In the following years the differences are smaller but could still be 2x.

Totally. My earlier point before this discussion was that I believe roiders have mostly skewed expectations of what is doable in a short manner of time (all those x months transformations) rather than what is achievable in terms of size, so that's why I don't focus so much on what is achievable in a lifetime.

This is true, but this is exactly the reason that you have to stop comparing your progress in the gym to other people.
          > inb4 cope. mad cause small
As cliche as it sounds, it is entirely true. Are there people who achieve in 6 months what it takes you a year to do? Yes. Should that matter to you unless you are some blackpilled dumbass? No. Who the frick cares? Just go lift. Even if you have bottom 10% genetics, you cannot avoid the fact that human muscle tissue responds and adapts to stimulus. You will grow. You will look better. Quit being a homosexual and lift some weights.

I agree with you, and personally I think I have quite decent genetics. It's just that people seem to underestimate the importance of them and those with good genetics are quick to say someone who makes shitty gains just doesn't put in the work. I'll be the first to call out people who just frick around in the gym and don't push themselves but it's important to realize and keep in mind that someone could push hard and eat well and still make poor muscle gains. I think it's obvious to everyone here and not really up to debate, I just figure it's good to point out anyway.

Some people here don't seem to get that the ottermode / athletic guys on tiktok are roiders too. "Roiders are too big" is not an argument because most people that roid do not look like bodybuilders. Anyway, I think what changed is the perception of how much work and time it takes to achieve a certain physique. For example, for me it probably took 15 months of lifting for people to first comment on my physique but realistically they thought I had only lifted for 3 months or so. Over 2.5 years in they can tell I lift but I'm definitely not turning heads.

idk what you're asking but a low-dose cycle would be a comfy 175-250mg/week dose.

This would put very comfortable above the highest generic test range with minimal sides, you'd grow quite fast but not exponentially.

If I could be bothered to find a fricking source who could supply me my entire life, it'd cruise on 250mg/week for life.

Roiders aren't fit. That's because you can absolutely pack on tons of muscle and get shredded with roids in a very short amount of time (1 year).

However, compare that with an athlete who has been training for decades and you don't have the tendon strength / coordination/ CNS adaptation he has. You are quite literally a fraud. Yes, pro athletes do roid but even the average pleb who played basketball every weekend mogs you because people can tell he is fit and he doesn't even try whereas you are the equivalent of a big plastic boobed blonde.

Not to mention that roid gains go away insanely fast. I've seen roiders who stopped lifting for 3-4 months and they became these beer gut abominations. Meanwhile i literally didn't lift consistently for 2 years due to covid bullshit and i got back to my old lifts with 1 month of consistent lifting.

I have friends who are adamant that none of the marvel actors roid, at best they concede Hemsworth did so. Even with him they argue his physique is achievable natty but that the timeframe was probably too short.

Also have a buddy who was surprised when I said the Rock roided and was in disbelief.
