What damper setting you gays use?
For me, it's normally 5-7 but sometimes I put it up to 10 and close my eyes to imagine I'm on a warship with fellow gaulic brothers on the way to pillage and plunder.

You moron don’t put it at 10
Go to Utilities-> Drag Factor and make sure it’s between 115 - 130, so probably between 3 to 5

I really fricking hate when you search a topic on a hobby and the fricking NERDS with ZERO, ZERO fricking common sense start spouting useless shit and can never give a straight answer.

i had no idea about this damper shit. so someone give it to me fricking straight, am I getting more gains from putting it on 10 or not? i don't care if it's harder but is it giving me more GAINS???? i've been doing it on 10 forever now. and am i also getting more cardio benefits by putting it on 10? someone give me a fricking straight up non complicated answer.

no, the only thing you're doing is increasing your risk of injury.

collegiate athletes and olympians train on a drag factor of 115-120 which is about 4/10. This is because that level most accurately recreates the feel you would have if you were actually on water.

There is zero need to go above this. If you feel you are not getting a good enough workout... ROW HARDER

If you're just starting up, I'd say go to around 90. Let's be honest, the first 250k meters at least is garbage form for pretty much everybody.

No, pretty sure there are studies which said there was no strength or strength endurance benefits gained from going higher resistance, but decreased cardio gains. Still might be worth doing if your only using it as a warmup for diddlys

        >straight answer
Yeah the straight answer is put it in the middle. You got the straight answer but you don't like it, you want to put it at ten, so you ask why we say 4-6 and we explain exactly fricking why, but apparently that isn't 'straight' enough because you're a chimp who equates 10 = STRONGER MORE HARDCORE. Go do fricking crossfit you'd love it.

Never realized there was a "drag setting" on these things. I just aim for 1000m in under 4 minutes. Excellent warmup.

i love this fricking machine like you wouldn't believe. best form of cardio and it isn't even close.

just got it this month. doing 30 mins at 150 beats per minute 5 times a week and i feel like a teenager again.

I've been trying to find the answer to this question everywhere and i cant find shit. How much cardio is the best for overall heart health? How much is too much? The heart association recommends 150 minutes a week, for most people, which is 30 minutes times 5 days.... but "most people" are weak overweight slobs. So how much is ideal?

A thot, for your thoughts, gentleman.

Id imagine 30 minutes, 5 days a week is solid for an average person.

I use mine to warm up before lifting. 10 to 15 minutes max setting.
