You’re gonna have to explain this one, OP. You’re gay if you don’t. Get nice and specific now.

Bench press makes your punching power and speed worse

        >cns gets primed for slow movement
        >unlearn athletic biomechanics
Also heavy squats ruin your athleticism because sport are front foot dominant and squats are back foot dominant (That's why you can't slav squat btw, your body is accustomed to walking, running, jumping and considers having weight on the heels an unnatural movement - nobody did flat footed squats before the 40s or so, back in the day people did hindu squats, the so-called deep knee bend, even with weights).

I feel that huge lats are more what limit punching power rather than a strong chest, because they seem to limit torso rotation a lot

This is what living on the internet does to a guy

That's the most moronic thing I've read today
        >squats are back foot dominant
No, if you have your weight on your heel while squatting, you are doing it wrong
        >That's why you can't slav squat
No, that's because you have the mobility of an 80yo. Anyone that can squat below parallel can slav squat
        >weight on the heels an unnatural movement
Oh yeah I forgot people never carried heavy things on their backs before powerlifting was invented

Unironically does by making you keep shoulders back whereas when punching you have to move the shoulder forward. Do dips and ohp instead.

    1. Strength training and BJJ go together like peanut butter and jelly
    2. BJJ is the most effective fighting system for the real world
    3. BJJ doesn’t rely upon strikes

So I’ll keep benching and strangle you to death if necessary

    >b-but I’ll knock you out before you can reach me

A childish fantasy that every man imagines, but that doesn’t happen in reality

Enjoy getting sucker kicked on the mouth by a rapscallion whilst you're wrestling his friend

Sucker punch defense is a cornerstone of BJJ

Bjj only works in a one on one unarmed scenario.

You, and every other untrained Joe who says this, are overly confident in winning against multiple guys with knives while unarmed

This is some major bullshit and you know it, first of all you should be able to take someone down, and if the other guy knows any Judo,Wrestling, even fricking Rugby, good luck. And you have it even worse if they know Sanda or Sambo where you learn to wrestle while striking. Secondly, you overestimate how well you will react to getting punched, i got my nose broken with one bare knuckle strike, you would spazz out. Not even going to get into the "Going to the floor in the streetz=bad" bullshit.

It only ruins your punching power if you get too big.

Virtually only possible if you're on gear. Or a fatass.

I don't even mean in the bodybuilder sense. Too big a chest for a striker is achievable natty. Any mass that doesn't contribute to the fast, whippy form you need for punches is a detriment. MMA is a different matter and whatever you can achieve as a natty isn't going to be detrimental to the full package of striking and grappling.

You dont even box, dude. Shut up.
