I wonder the same thing. I think part of it is I get the runners high and just feel good all over. Its bliss. I never feel that way from lifting. I just get bored

Yeah, I mean the pump from lifting is nice, but it is nothing like a runners high on a beautiful day with a nice view, literally feel like I am flying

Why is running so rewarding compared to natty lifting

For me, partly it is because when I run I can really just forget everything and run. when I lift, I have to focus on form and forcing myself to go to failure, which is good but much less rewarding as I am doing it

I like both. Lifting helps with relieving muscle tension from stress and running helps with the mental part.

Our bodies are designed to run and git gud at it.

Our bodies are not meant to get huge that's why you hit a wall so quick lifting and have to take steroids or remain a dyel in clothes.

I like running + KB and Calisthenics. Great combo for all around fitness

actually our physiology is mostly adapted for walking or jogging, not running

It’s not, it’s boring as shit, i can think about a million other forms of cardio that are actually fun

I took the jumprope and later rowing pill and now laugh at rooners

Yes but now it’s called Zone 2 for some reason

alright thanks, maybe zone 2 makes it sound more fancy since jogging isn't seen as "serious training"

                Anonymous

The difference is probably only meaningful if you’re really out of shape. A fatass cardiolet might hit zone 2 just by walking briskly and jogging would put him into zone 3+

for me at least its because running is far easier on my body then lifting. i get 3x the amount of injuries lifting than i do running, and my muscle/tendon sorenoss from running is nonexistent compared to my lifting pains.

when im pushing my limit on squats my spine does feel noticeably compressed, my hips and knees feel used (not bad or good but just used) etc etc

I also think running progression is way quicker and lasts way longer, you wont hit a wall running for at least the first year, meanwhile lifting can feel like youre giving your all to something to maybe add 2.5kg a week or two to a lift

18 months of natty lifting and you will only get marginal gains from then on out. 18 months of cardiogayging and you still have a lifetime of meaningful improvements to make.

Of course, you can ruin your cardio journey by bikemaxxing for 25 hours/week from the get go if you're young but most people like the simple, continuous improvement from slowly increasing cardio volume/intensity over years and years.

The only ones who kick my ass are actual IRON MAN who do running AND weightlifting.
To be fair, I only lose in tire lifting / drag categories

    trail running is the best
far away from cars, trees pumping out mad oxygen
i can run so much easier when I'm in the forest on a trail than when I'm on the road, I feel like i have endless energy in the woods

I've done boh and I always tell people that hitting a heavy set of any major lift feels just as good as mile 3+. The fact is that people are built differently with an advantage one way or the other toward running or lifting. In my case I was never a very good runner (only a handful of sub-20 5ks and a few 10ks) but I am a very good lifter now. If you're a better runner then have fun.
