Salt in higher than recommended doses is fine if you're drinking enough water. But almost nobody does so doctors recommend a lower amount.

salt you must have some amount ofc there is too much like fast food and frozen foods may have too much salt. but it's not detrimental salt binds water so your blood volume and pressure may rise temporarily, but salt does not cause like chronic problems unlike fat cause it wont clog your arteries long term or anything

Sodium is needed in the body in moderate doses. Too much sodium is a problem, not enough sodium is a problem. Too much sodium is usually solvable by drinking more, but there's an upper limit on drinking more water to solve it; as you eliminate excess sodium you'll eliminate other electrolytes too (chloride anions, magnesium, potassium).
Sodium is used at the cellular level, it is used in the nervous system to help conduct nerve impulses, and it's part of the process of muscle contraction and relaxation.
    You need sodium.
Salt is an easy way to get sodium. It's also an easy way to get too-much sodium if you're not careful and your tastebuds are fricked.

    This thread is moronic.

every fat bastard says this about their snacks, 30gallon ice cream dessert, and all the other shit they stuff themselves with.
Your body likes salt because salt is needed by the body. Tell you what: mix up some salt water and drink nothing else. Get yourself a nice couple gallons or so of salt water and drink them down. Let us know how you're feeling 2+ gallons in.

As long as it tastes good it’s fine, if it tastes gross you’ve had too much. Your body isn’t moronic when it comes to sodium, there is a crazy mechanism in your body that deals with excess sodium you may have heard of it, it’s called thirst.

This. People hurt themselves when the purposely limit their salt. Many people feel significantly better in all aspects when they up their salt intake. The fools who are all about making sure to drink 2L+ water every day in addition to their regular diet, AND limit salt intake, are especially suffering.

Anyone who ignores he tens of thousands of synthetic known poisons (pesticides, fertilizers, preservatives, artificial colorings, artificial flavourings, "natural" flavourings, and on and on and on) in favor of this reductionist bullshit about muh one evil macronutrient is just scamming you to make a quick buck.

Unfortunately these same chemicals have given a lot of people, especially Americans irreversible brain damage to the point that none of you have critical thinking skills anymore and will just believe whatever some new guru will want you to.

            And remember

                Which boils down to
                >THIS ONE MACRO = BAD
Seriously, I'm not going to just take your shitsucking word for it moron. If I did that I'd starve myself, because as it happens, we have numerous
