>decide i need to start exercising because i can feel my brain melting in real time and feel like shit constantly
>go for a few "runs" 3 out of 4 past few days
>get winded quick so it's more walking than running but still getting intensive
>fitness tracker arrives
>i'm pulling 108 bpm just standing around the house
For reference, I'm 6'0 140lbs. Not looking for asspats or an excuse to give up, can I seriously work through such a high resting BPM or should I see a doctor first? Even fatties I know IRL pull less.

i mean naturally check with you doctor on your heart health but definitely still work out as its the main way to improve it. start with just fast walking or even hiking then work up to more intense stuff.

Yeah, I'm trying. Hard when you hate eating and cooking but you gotta do what you gotta do I guess.

Drop the stimulants, my resting heart rate went from 80 to 60 after I quit chugging coffee

Been doing that, used to be chugging mutliple energy drinks a day which probably didn't help.

You might want to start off by throwing back protein shakes immediately. Go get some whey protein powder and some milk and just chug that shit

I’ve run a 5k under 16 min and know a decent bit about running. Honestly, you’re probably just piss weak aerobically. Just keep at it every day and be very intelligent with not building up your mileage and pace too quickly and you will make big improvements over time

Good job making the effort friend. It's high, but that just shows that you need to do more cardio and strengthen your heart. Start easy with regular walking at good paces. Remember that taking walks is more than you were doing before!

Put in one "rest" day between run trainings. On rest days don't run, just walk
Your heart muscles need to repair just as your other muscles do. Walking the same distance burns 90% the calories of jogging (or running) does. Be more patient, Rome wasn't built in a day

sustained cardio for long duration is most efficient to lower RHR iirc.
keep doing cardio. check your diet. measure your RHR every morning after waking up.
after a few weeks of cardio see if it's going down.
wouldn't consider a doctor unless that number isnt going down through your efforts.
theyre gonna give you a pill which causes more problems instead of addressing main issue - your heart needs exercise.
