>no one wants to do things the old fashioned way anymore
Yeah stfu grandpa
dumbest fricking thing I have ever seen in my life
go away ripplebreasts gay
shut up I will never use a gay trap bar
>waah my back hurts I need to consoom more
projecting much?
No I don't use trap bars
so don't do it then
LOOOOOOL
STOP DEADLIFTING BROKE BACK BUCK
kys unironically
Who are these everyone you talk about? I haven't seen anyone irl use that bar.
Some people are using the trap bar more often because for some people it's a bit more sport specific than the normal deadlift. But most people made the switch because you can load up more weight on the trap bar
Doesn't trapbar have carry over to the clean?
more than conventional? seems kinda moronic
Cleans are more in the legs, trap bar is more in the legs, it's because the bar starts so close to your body, like the clean. But I do think that conventional can just be done like a clean pull as well which effectively does the same thing.
I out deadlift you (650 conv, 4x BW beltless) and I deadlift once a month if that. Only cleans ya frickin DYEL.
Clean deadlifts, basically set up like a clean and perform it as a deadlift.
wtf this is just a normal deadlift
tehres two types of deadlifts , hips high and hips low
1. hips low involve two motions - squat then romanian deadlift -
2. hips high - one motion
andy bolton argues you can lift more using this method
this is a moronic take, if you watch your clean deadlift video, yes they squat down low but once they start pulling their hips rise, so they are performing just a normal deadlift
its not moronic, these two both use a different technique
The hips rise with the legs yes that's what happens when your legs push up. moron
This is so fricking stupid: as soon as the weights get very heavy the bar will not move until the hips shoot up to the high position. So please calm down your dyel moronation
I dunno, doing it with high hips hurts my back but doing it with lower hips = no back pain
t.can only deadlift 160kg, I weight 70kg
Yes but the low hips loads your quads much more, it's just another way to make your clean stronger.
Post your deadlift lying Black person moron
nvm that none of this happened, I only ever see a few kids at my gym doing Oly lifts and they are all small
how many pullups can you do?
>high handle
it's just cheating for bigger ego lifts. At a minimum you should be using the low handle in line with the bar and doing deficient with plates or platform under you
yeah at MINIMUM. or else you could load the weights on to a barbell and do a real fricking lift
If you want a real lift I wouldn't be deadlifting at all and doing cleans.
>not doing both
pleb
oly shitters can leave anytime
DYEL confirmed
Cope moron
Tried this once, with the weight centered level with your grip, it is free to try and lean the hexagon forward as your grip gets sweaty. I set 355 lbs down on my big toe.
Grip the bar from the high handle.
>it is free to try and lean the hexagon forward as your grip gets sweaty.
center your hands better or use chalk.
>Grip the bar from the high handle.
You limit your ROM doing this
>or else you could load the weights on to a barbell and do a real fricking lift
have a nice day moron
It's definitely cheating. You are missing some of the main elements of the deadlift, it's not just about moving weight vertically, reminds me of the Smith machine. The high handles are just trolling at that point.
its safer than a normal deadlift and requires no technique, thats why normies and athletes use it.
to be quite frank there isn't much reason to do normal deadlifts, its very easy to injure yourself if you perform them incorrectly.
all the chads switched to zercher centuries ago
why is it not bad to curve your bak when zerher or lifting round stones
Because the lower back isn't taking the weight, it's like an Atlas stone lift.
Like most compounds it's not something to jump straight into with heavy weight
I use this instead of the usual squats, but deadlifts?
Why the FRICK do coaches recommend these to athletes instead of conventional?
>easy to learn
>safer
cuz if ur athlete gets hurt ur fricked
Because they realize that only powersharters should care about conventional
I did conventional this morning.
Deadlifted 5pl8s with an injured back/glute
These are so based. I’ve basically replaced squats and conventional deadlift with these and I will never look back. My legs and back are the biggest they’ve ever been and I don’t have to worry about hurting myself. Bonus points if you shrug at the top.
I've actually switched to trap bar a week ago while keeping the same linear progression. If I switch back to conventional, should I keep the linear progression or should I remove some weight like maybe 20 pounds on the lift?
I use the trap bar when the platform is taken. Frankly I see no reason to dead more than 3pl8 so it’s not really a big deal one way or the other. It’s a maintenance exercise for me not my entire personality
Have you at least tried for 425. For you know, 4 plates?
Nah but I don’t doubt I could hit it with relative ease if I pushed towards it. Doing 3pl8 for sets isn’t that far off a 4pl8 single for me (6’0 90kg)
Everyone who’s regular and takes it remotely seriously at my gym deadlifts. Especially the zooms they love that shit. It’s pretty normie tier now I’m surprised to hear people aren’t doing it. Where are you from? I’m UK city based
Southern US, home gym is a hardcore bodybuilding gym. Most of the regulars compete. People do rdls often, but not regular Deadlifts. Maybe a few times a year. We have one powerlifter that always does them, but only him really. And one dude that does rack pulls from mid thigh a lot.
>everyone
Not the groups of scrawny chinamen at my gym who stand around the smith machines for an hour while one squinty eyed guy lifts 45 pounds
I deadlifted 60kg for 6 reps today with the hex bar an hour before op made this thread
Good lass
For me it's still conventional. Honestly, I rarely see anyone use the trap bar at my gym. Not many Deadlift either though.
