Seriously now that I'm fit how am I supposed to look good in a suit I feel so awkward at work with my big potato suit. Went to have a tailored one made and the old lad said ughh you have very large shoulders and thighs didn't say it exactly like that but you get it he said it like it was a bad thing, guess I'll see what the suit looks like when it's ready but I have a bad feeling. Also shirts I have to take one size up to close the collar to put on the tie it looks horrible. Maybe I should slim down and loose some muscle it feels ridiculous in an office setting now that I think about it.

Yes, the ultimate fit pill is that too much muscle looks lower class and awkward in any sophisticated setting. Congrats on realising this AFTER spending all that time and money on this "hobby"

You will never get big enough as a natty to look bad in a suit due to your muscles.

If nothing else he should have at least chosen a different color, that peach or whatever is far too close to his skin tone. I would have gone with a light blue personally if he wants that light or pastel look, would make for better contrast.
Really don't understand how these idiots, even with professional stylists, manage to frick up so horribly.

Also, obviously, black pants are a poor choice for a light jacket.

He could have gone with a white dinner jacket (like Sinatra), but of course that's not good enough for big wholesome moron.

This is probably the best fit of a bad lot. Still not great but wtf can you do, it's like putting a gorilla in a suit trying to pretend it's normal.

True, blue probably would've been better than pink/peach/salmon whatever the frick that is, but he's still just trying to hide his ridiculous proportions.

They all look like fricking idiots, not sure any amount of tailoring could help

Probably not. Due huge traps the suit always looks like it's on a hanger. Also with huge quads either the pants needs to be ridiculous wide and looks like a clown's pants or is like a slim fit, which looks also moronic for suit pants.

how big are you? The answers depending on your shape are:
    - traditional English suiting with interior structure is designed to broaden shoulders, wear with straight leg pants. Works if you are taller in particular. Regardless, you'll need something tailor made and you'll still need a proportionally small waist. Tailored shirts too. Also ask your tailor for pattern advice to make you look less like a house or a kid in his dads suit.
    - modern Italian suiting - no inner structure, tailor lengths and otherwise just don't be moronic and you'll be alright. This is a more casual look but also can be more comfy - lots of high waist stuff and knits.
    t. moron who grew out of his 3k suits. Fiance worked for one of the better tailors in the world. Personally I've given up on suits btw.

Ok so I just got one tailored, from an old British tailor. He measured me last week but I haven't got it yet. As I said in the OP the measurement process was awkward and he kept sighing, commenting on my proportions, especially thighs, chest and arms, like it annoyed him, and basically he would try his best but I was just a bad model, and somehow jacket and trousers were too different - didn't quite get that part. Got me to think suits are just not made for fit bros, and realised I've never seen a bulky guy look good in one

      >Personally I've given up on suits btw.
Yeah, exactly my thoughts if this one goes bad but I still need to wear one for work

Thighs are the killer for sure, followed by shoulders and biceps. It'll take him a while to work around it. Jacket and trousers being too different is around the standard proportions if he's having to pattern match - e.g. line up check patterns in the fabric. See how it turns out. I just couldn't be fricked spending the money any more. Spending hundreds on tailoring a pair of pants only for them to blow out at the crotch on a day you didn't drive to work is hell.

        >I still need to wear one for work
take a look at Italian and french suiting. Unlined jackets do work - unsure where you are / work attire culture. You can also substitute collared shirts for knitted polos which are gym bro approved (think every golden era bodybuilder). Slightly more casual but if you aren't a troll you'll look way better than your average office joe. Also comfy.

    1st Place: Branch
    2nd Place: Phil
    3rd Place: Kai
    Honorable Mention: Victor

Branch kept it simple, letting the suit speak for itself and highlighting it with a nice watch. Phil went with more color and a pattern and his tie is meant to match his shoes and his skin tone but it seems a little too bright and their ties make their necks look slimmer. Kai and Victor look like doormen at Spearmint Rhino during by night and furniture movers by day.
