Not that anon, but I experienced this as a millennial. Women are more insecure than ever.

          And that's a good thing.

Which wouldn't be an issue at all if they weren't doing it while crowded around one of the few benches or squat racks (that they are using incorrectly anyways) or really anywhere around the gym.
I don't get gym socalites. Unless you're paying 500 a month to go to a rich white people gym, the place is for lifting, not networking.

There's a big pack of them that always show up to my gym around 9pm and take up half of the gym just talking to each other. Like only 2 or 3 of them are even lifting at a time, the rest just huddle around and take up every bench in the building in a social circle doing curls with 15 pound dumbbells. It's fricking bizarre. My gym is small so this group of like maybe 10 dudes will just camp out in the free weight section and make it unusable. They've been going for at least as long as I have but don't seem to make any gains. I think in about 6 months a few have graduated from 15 to 25 pound dumbbells? Not sure though. I leave when they get there.

Everything in this thread is true, but I have a pretty good memory and I (29 years old) remember everyone being just as embarrassingly stupid when we were kids. The difference with us was that there was not a lot of good info for fitness available at the time, so everyone was doing shit wrong.
