This is why you need to drink your milk and chew on tough foods all throughout childhood, so your jaw doesn't come out underdeveloped and incapable of accommodating a perfectly natural number of teeth.

wrong, i drank like a liter of milk every day up to like 14 (i'm 22 and still drink it every day, just not as much) and to this day eat all kinds of meat, didn't stop me from being a chinlet/jawlet, plus my teeth are kinda crowded too.
worst thing is my parents and grandparents have either chad or normal tier jawlines, tough luck they didn't have enough money to at least get braces while growing up

There's a debate amongst dentists on this. Mine for instance said to have it removed only if it starts causing pain, but if it's fine right now it's okay to leave in as he saw no ill effects (no infection, molars are not being impacted, etc). Vaguely regular cleaning at the dentist would be enough to keep an eye on it.

I was told this as well. They also told me you wouldn't have all your teeth at 25 in preindustrial society so that's why people get impacted wisdom teeth. There is meant to be extra room. I drank a lot of milk, ate well and visited a good dentist regularly in my childhood (my family is rich) so I know it's not diet.

                >They also told me you wouldn't have all your teeth at 25 in preindustrial society
Completely false propaganda spread around to cope with the destructive nature of industrialized society. Pic related is the state of un-industrialized aborigines' teeth when eating their native diet. The introduction of processed foods and refined sugar is why people lose their teeth, it is NOT natural or normal.

This. If nature gave you set amount of teeth then there was a purpose for it and it wasn't for some israelite to profit from them.

You have never experienced the pain of impacted wisdom teeth. I had mine removed and after 8 years my jaw finally feels normal. This isn't israeli profiteering, for people with more compact skull structures it's the only way to avoid horrible pain.

weak processed foods during childhood development have led us to have under-developed jaws that cannot accommodate wisdom teeth. it isnt natural to have that tooth growing sideways (impacted) in the first place, and should be removed.

It's called evolution. Wisdom teeth don't have purpose anymore. Like chest hair. What the frick do I have hair on my chest for? To shield me from the elements? I can just wear a jacket. Fricking useless chest hair. Frick them.

That purpose was for less evolved humanoids that had different diets. The human design isn't perfect, vestigial traits affects us like glitches all the time. Wisdom teeth are an example of that.

          Anonymous

          >That purpose was for less evolved humanoids that had different diets.
Yeah, because the modern diet of processed goyslop is just such a great thing for humans.

            Anonymous

Protip - human jaws didn't suddenly change in the last 100 years. You're absolutely right in the sense that modern diets are fricking awful for us and our teeth, but the size of the human jaw became smaller over thousands of years. You should be blaming agriculture first and foremost. The goyslop is going to result in even changes that will be much more evident in a few hundred years.

              Anonymous

I don't believe it's that humans have genetically smaller jaws, we've just stopped properly developing them.

                Anonymous

Behavior is part of natural selection. Additionally, almost everything is tied into your genetics, including your personality. It's simply more efficient energy-wise to not need to develop large laws. Do you think a dude who spends his life reaching for bananas in a tree is going to grow taller? The jaw of a modern human would only be influenced in terms of muscle development by your diet.

                Anonymous

                >The jaw of a modern human would only be influenced in terms of muscle development by your diet.
Yes, and I'm saying the amount of influence that has is drastic.

                Anonymous

The size of your jaw in relation to the number of teeth it can house is all about your bone structure, not muscle.

                Anonymous

They influence each other, strong jaw muscles pull on your jaw bones in a way that can allow them to grow more freely. On top of that, nutrition plays a huge role in the development of bone structure. You seem to be operating under the assumption that every person reaches their maximum genetic potential during development when that is often not the case, there are lots of factors that can stunt development and industrialization has been compounding such problems with fake food diets that don't provide adequate nutrition for truly complete development.

Its the industrialization, not agriculture in itself.

Extraction varies. Yours doesn't sound bad so it'll likely being $75-200 and can be done by the dentist with local anesthesia. If it's more complicated (major tooth impaction, you have to go to an oral surgeon, etc), it could cost $800 and up, but this really doesn't sound like your case.
