You shouldn't need to bulk IMO unless you have visible abs. If I were you I'd eat at a very slight deficit and keep increasing the volume of your training until it's too much.
Adding to that, if you're training hard and eating too little is ruining your gains, you'll know it because you'll be getting burnt out and feeling like you're overtraining often
you think that an obese beginner wont build muscle without bulking? Black person i reached 1/2/3/4 for 5 while dropping from 28% bodyfat to around 15%. there is LITERALLY zero reason for an obese person to NOT be on a deficit. he can build muscle AND lose fat at the same time at an incredible rate. if he bulks now he will literally spend 2~ years cutting which he will never do.

Bulk with 200 calories above your TDEE. you won't gain much fat but you'll gain muscle. then after you can do 1/2/3/4 cut down to like 12% bodyfat and you'll look lean ottermode

I knew the thread would gain some sort of traction. anyway, I’ve been training for 2 years now. started with 3x12 type bodybuilder workout routine and moved on to a mix of gymnastics and compounds. I’m not sure wether to continue cutting or bulk since it’s winter.
From that point on you can bulk lightly. No reason to get fat again. Cutting more want help you in any way if you don't compete or have any other reasons to lose more fat. Won't help you with women either, since your face should be slim by now.
