Yeah, but zoomers wear them as casual sneakers, not for their intended purpose as running shoes. I tried the Clifton and while comfy, they wore out faster than the equivalent Pegasus/Ride/Ghost/Cumulus and so on.
I mean I see a higher proportion of xc runners using them than in any other demographic. I was also introduced to them 8 years ago at an xc runner camp
Yeah maximalist shoes in general are only within the last decade. Nike has come out with better shoes recently apparently, but at a slightly higher price point.
I bought a pair of Rincons. I thought I'd hate the stack and inflexibility, but they actually worked well to run in. They wear down really quickly though. I would not buy them again.
Not a runner, but I'm on my feet 12 hours a day. Bought bondis on a friend's recommendation, and I will never wear any other shoe in my life ever again. The support and cushion is life-changing.
I think Hokas really excel as cushioned walking shoes. I found them too squishy soft for every day running and went back to the tried and true Saucony Ride.
so ugly though..
Yeah they look bulky so that was a con
They’re dad shoes
Okay that's good, because I want to be a father.
Lol no they aren’t
They are literally one of the most trendy shoes right now
You fucking retards live in a bubble

They're XC runner shoes.
Not sure what you mean by that. All the major running brands make XC oriented models.

Guess I’m out of the loop. Nike and Asics used to dominate XC when I ran in high school.

I like the Clifton’s and Gaviota 4s. Most of the other shoes just seem meh

Mine are still good. Weird
My father said the same thing, that his wore down really quick. I have had good success with Brooks.
I only buy Hoka Bondis
i only run when doing sports officiating, been using the gylcerin 19 for a few years but fellow refs have told me these are really good

On my feet all day at work and wear the Bondi 7s. They are real comfy but pretty ugly
