Should I start cutting? help me

I am currently 77kg, 6'0 and I feel like I am starting to get fat.
Would it be wise to cut down to 72kg and then start bulking again?

Is 5kg a good amount to cut/ bulk?

This was a few months ago, I think I was leaner

You were definitely leaner here. Even with shittier lighting, your midsection was more defined.

If you want to cut go for it, but imo you don't look bad at all right now, no homo.

Thank you. I felt like I was being gaslit. I just don't want to be fat.
Is 5kg a good amount of weight to bulk/ cut long term?

No homosexual you look better in the 1st pic. Maybe maintain that bodyfat and build muscle over it

But don't I need to bulk to build more muscle? I'd prefer to be my current bodyfat% eventually, but only after I put on a decent amount of muscle.

Just clean bulk (high protein) by like 300-500 kcal per day and lift.

As long as you take the bulk slowly and lift and hit protein amounts you won't put on too much extra body fat, you will make your gains, and it will be easier to cut down a bit once you hit your muscle goals

So what weight should I aim for if i'm 77.5kg now in the mornings before I eat?

whatever weight you want my guy, tho your current weight is considered pretty ideal for leaner/ottermode aesthetics. in a perfect world you put on maybe 5-7kg of muscle and keep your body fat where it is or a little lower.

the focus should be to put on muscle, so you need to lift and probably eat a bit more while hitting your protein amount. the goal would be to increase muscle to whatever amount you want while minimizing fat gain, so just make sure the bulk is clean, high protein, and lift. The point of having a low caloric surplus is that it will make it easier to manage the weight (specifically fat) gain, i.e you dont gain too much too fast and frick up your lean physique.

at your stage you can gain 1-2kg of lean muscle mass a year. Take that as you will. Results from now on will be painfully slow and you cant speed it up by bulking/cutting. So just lift and accept the way you look. Have lifting as something on the side that keeps you accountable to be healthy. Naturally if you want to gain some strength and put on fat then eat at a surplus. If you want to get ready for a vacation / look lean shirtless etc then cut. This is life. You are not a bodybuilder, you are not getting ready for show.

What? I'm 6'0 so not tall and definitely not muscular. Never said I was.

Okay. Thanks. I'll do it to maybe 82. I don't want to get too fat.

Vertical pulls and hip hinges afaik so bent over rows and diddly would do it.

Only that? I've only been lifting for 14 months and the first 6 months I fricked around going twice a week, half-assing exercises and eating like shit.
I'm barely above DYEL, if at all.

It's up to you but honestly I don't think you're anywhere near fat enough to really consider stopping the bulk. We're entering autumn and winter so there's no time pressure either. I would lean bulk another 3-4 months until February and then cut from 80-81 kg down to 75kg. How long have you been bulking anyway?

Since July but I haven't been counting calories all that much. I just added an extra 300 - 500 calories of peanut butter to my then diet.

I don't want to be fat enough that it affects my face though. Should I cut down to 72kg when i'm done bulking and then keep going up/ down by 5kgs?

        >since July
Yeah, bulk longer. You can easily bulk another 3 months. Remember, cuts don't take that long, you can lose 5-6kg in 8 weeks with a moderate deficit.

Okay, thanks. After the bulk i'd like to cut down to 12% bodyfat. Do you know how much i'd have to cut for that?
