    Nope. I rather look like a doughy bear that is strong as frick then have a glass-jaw and be lean as frick. I got strong as frick with thick neck and forearms: chicks started noticing and I kept getting laid. One of the frequent compliments I kept getting was how I could completely hold them down and envelope them like they had no choice but to take the breeding (really loved that CNC shit).

    You can't always have the abs out and we both look good in shirts like True Classic.

    I mean, I might try to get lean in the future cause I kinda would love too look like Toji from JJK. That's a personal desire though - the chicks I've been around say they don't like a guy too shredded and lean.

        Nah. My conjecture is that there are a lot of skinny-fat/low-muscles men out there that are "lean". They're also weak as frick (honestly I was surprised as frick that most men can't bench 225lb when I got to it and past it). I think women have gotten sick and tired: now they subconsciously think probably burly men have good high-test genes and real strength.

          It's all "leanmax, cut at all costs, you'll never get laid off if you don't have shredded abs" and "this is all women want (with a pic of some skinny twink who would look completely unremarkable if he wasn't shirtless)".
          Most people are not going to be able to put on significant muscle while staying lean enough to have visible abs so you need to decide what's more important to you, what your eventual goal body looks like and how you're going to get there.

          You might be weaker when lean but stronger pound for pound so it doesn’t even matter, plus I’ve never lost anything more than maybe 5-10lbs on my lifts when cutting and I gain that strength back within days of eating at maintenance again.
          Plus strength is only 1 facet of health anyway, all your other ones (aerobic, anaerobic, flexibility, mobility, explosiveness, etc as well as organ health and hormone production) will increase as you get closer to about 10% bf

    In order to progress (make more muscle) you need to bulk. Which means you will lose your abs. But you can cut again after the bulk and become lean again.

    This scares lean guys. They just get abs and then make 0 progress because they're scared of bulking lol. You can't make muscle and stay lean at the same time. Don't be afraid of the fat it will come off quickly afterwards anyway.

      You can do both by increasing caloric intake slightly above your requirements. I never understood bulk/cut. Low and slow is healthier. I've put on 6 lbs of lean mass in about 5 months that way and didn't need to get fat.

            And whether or not you can get good abs with just those exercises depends a lot on genetics and how lean you want to push yourself.

            If you aren't that lean and your genetics are shit then ab isolation exercises will give you a much more pronounced 6 pack. The people who suggest otherwise are usually just chasing the thinnest waist possible and ridiculously lean

      that is hip flexor though and lower back strain on yer skinned man picture bot - what gives ? 😀

      abs is in crunch, in bringing ribs to pelvis when ur hip flexor and rectus femori is soft
      i am getting there but have not developed useful clue yet to get hip flexor soft, rectus femori is easy - it's right there 😀

      it's sorta like trying to isolate side delt overhead - turns out ur elbow must be almost if not fully extended and there u rotate shoulder internally (elbow back) to get side delt, if u bend elbow a tad more front delt takes over and shits on ur efforts of isolating side delt

      i don't have useful clue for abs, yet 😀 but it's crunch with "soft legs" for certain that isolates abs from hip flexor
