skelly feels thread

>Just eat more bro lmao

Frick you. I HATE eating, it makes me sick. I want to start lifting and I just think what's the point when the "bulking" part is fricking impossible. Trying to gain a single pound is a nightmare, my stomach is pathetic. Having to force myself to eat to the point of sickness and beyond just for the hope of putting on an ounce is torture. I puked on two separate occasions attempting a half gallon of milk despite pacing myself, I fell for the liquid calories meme and thought it would be easier, but no. I'm a 5'9 manlet and weigh 120 pounds, never in my life have I ever been over 130 pounds. I'm 23 years old and built like a little boy, even middle schoolers intimidate me.

How the FRICK am I supposed to gain when everything leaves me nauseated? Is there anything calorie dense that wouldn't be pure hell on my stomach? Is there no cheat code to this shit? This is a curse, I'm destined to be a skeleton for life.

I suffer from the same problem anon, best thing I could recommend would be weight gain smoothies. You can pack ~1000 cal into a single cup so it won’t make you too full to drink. Other than that you should still gain some muscle mass if you start working out even if you aren’t eating like a pig, you just wont get massive.

1 cup of peanuts is 800 calories
So you could potentially eat 2000 calories in one sitting easily with a peanut butter, whole milk, mass gainer, ice cream shake. You arent even trying

someone posted a gooby thread earlier, and honestly gooby's diet stuff will help you gain mass on a budget. it's basically beans. lots of beans. you can add rice as well. but yea just eat a lot of beans and rice. beans are also good for you, and rice isn't bad for you as long as you get in some cardio and do your lifts.

i can sympathize anon. i'm trying to eat slightly above maintenance, but without junk food, and it's more difficult than I expected. i'm actually losing weight on a cal target I thought was high enough to gain with and it's pissing me off.

try to focus on fats; peanut butter, yogurt, and milk are good ofc. but cooking with butter/animal fat or adding a little extra butter to toast/veg/rice/etc can help add cals without being difficult to eat. if you get ground beef, go 80/20 or fattier (i've seen 73/27).

carbs like rice can help give you extra calories and increase hunger. try to eat smaller yet more frequent meals/snacks throughout the day. eat as soon as you can in the morning, even if it's something small. that'll help kick you out of the fasting state sooner and encourage more eating throughout the day.

nicotine and caffeine can reduce appetite, so if you use them, consider quitting or at least reducing your consumption. if you have coffee in the morning, try adding a little heavy whipping cream (it's not much but every little bit can help).

smoothies with fruit and protein powder can help too. a frozen banana makes them a lot more enjoyable, and the extra sugar should help increase hunger.

don't try to over-do it all at once either. your digestive system needs time to adjust to more food, so start with a relatively small surplus and increase slowly over weeks. half a gallon is a lot to jump into. try having 12oz or so at each meal instead (whole, no 2% or skim shit).

best wishes anon and try to be patient with yourself. ygmi

Funniest part is when people say exertion makes you hungrier. Either they are lying or they just don't put much effort in while at the gym. The last thing I want to do after pushing myself is eat for at least four hours or so. I've just gotten used to forcing down a shake of eggs, fruit, milk, and cream. Sometimes I vomit, sometimes it stays down. I don't think there is an easy fix. As long as you are gaining from one month to the next it's good.

I'm a skelly, but I disagree. It's not HARD to eat or put on weight, I just don't really want to do it most of the time because it takes a lot of dedication and consistency to make sure you're getting 3500 cals down each day. It's much easier to just not eat and get dopamine from doing other shit. That's something that the fats don't understand. They talk about all the satisfaction they get from eating and can't fathom not pounding down pints of ice cream and gorging on burgers everyday, they don't understand that maybe other things give more satisfaction than eating (studies have shown overweight people suffer more from low impulse control). Being skinny is a super power because it means you have been training your ability to delay gratification your entire life by living with the feeling of being hungry all the time. Also, most of the weight gain advice the fats do give just totally misses the point and displays a lack of understanding of the real source of the problem. They give hacks like adding a certain ingredient into one meal or eating nuts or adding peanut butter. What they don't understand is that the people they're addressing have extremely irregular eating schedules and most of the time are probably eating only once per day so adding in some peanuts or olive oil or whatever the frick is not gonna change shit. You simply have to build up the habit of eating more often. If you force yourself to eat 4 meals a day, after a couple months it'll just be natural. I know cuz I did it and gained 30 lbs. still skelly mode though. Thanks for tuning in to my cope post.

    Recovering concentration camp inmate myself.

Eating dirty and counting calories was how I escaped. Bought lunch and breakfast every weekday and ensured I was targeting 1000 calories per session (total cost about 20 bucks a day). Hear you on the hating to eat volume garbage and think a combination of hyper palatable foods, progressive overload on calories eg adding a packet of mayo a day, and expanding your stomach will get you there.

Replace the coconut butter with PB if you want. 300 calories for 2-3 bites of food. Try adding maltodextrin/carbo powder to your protein shakes too. Dont give up!
