i'm european so i get it without one. you can get adapalene instead, it's similar and you can get it without prescription.

differin is super easy to get a presciption for, at least in my country (sweden). I submitted 2 pictures to a online doctor and said the over the counter stuff didn't work and got one. took like 5 minutes. I think I got prescribed 3 or 4 tubes. didn't renew it as my acne pretty much dissappeared after that, if it gets bad again or I feel I want it for anti aging I'll renew it the same way.

I have some 'acne' (idk what it is) on my jaw on both sides for a year now that won't heal because i used some dumbass s o y beard oil back when i had one. It's not just hyperpigmentation, they are raised bumps that dont do anything except look bad. Frick me its my own fault. Learn from my example.

aha + bha, both at night if you want to be safe, sunscreen during the day is important when using these products, do your own research
      You’re welcome homosexual

When should I put retinol on if I'm already using an exfoliant?

I alternate each night between retinol and chemical exfoliant. Anything more than that is overkill imo

my skin is fairly clear all over but i want to start a skincare routine, can i just start with something like cerave am moisturizer on my face in the morning?

      Anonymous

Can't go wrong with the basics. A moisturizer with SPF 30+ protection for the morning and a night moisturizer without for the evening. Add a decent cleanser for both morning and evening and you're good to go. Cerave are a good brand for the price so can't go wrong with them. After you've got used to the routine I'd recommend adding retinol too but don't start with that

    >drink lots of water
    >stop eating greasy shit
    >wash face after every meal
    >stop touching face
    >wash pillowcases regularly
Let me guess, you "need" more

    >used to get few angry, deep cystic acne spots with any sugary or greasy food
    >simplified skin care, use only moisturizer and sunscreen, use chemical exfoliants every once in a while
    >acne stops, if I ever get that weird itch in a spot use aha+bha
    >clear skin for a year now, I can eat whatever I want without flare ups
Still not sure what happened, since I suddenly became sensitive to snail products despite being able to use them for a year beforehand

    Does sunscreen replace moisturizer?

      Anonymous

No, spf amount is also lower than what they market because realistically speaking people apply less coverage than they should. Even if your moisturizer has some spf is best to add proper separate product on top, caucasian skin has high rate of skin cancer don’t skimp on quality spf, wear sunglasses, a hat or stay in the shade. People don’t need more than 15 mins of sun exposure for adequate vit d.

I just started on prescription Tret. I don't get acne but I have very large pores on my nose and cheeks that fill with hardened oil in the summer and will look a bit like a ripe strawberry. It's honestly not that bad but I was completely shocked to hear there was any kind of treatment for it after living with it for some many years.
About two weeks into Tret and I've had no noticable change other than extremely dry skin even with moisturizing twice daily and sunscreen.

I would have tried aha + bha first, yes I’m a fricking shill of it but I was really surprised to see the difference first hand on my own skin, I thought Id have enlargened pores for life. I don’t know though if you can or should rotate through them with tret, better do some research
In the meantime wash your face morning and night, frequently rotate clean bedding and don’t dry your face with reusable cloth towels, use disposable paper towels.

Ok guys, I would appreciate some input on my total routine here.
    >Wake up ~10AM
    >Shower, warm water, aleppo soap
    >Coco cream conditioner near-daily
    >Coco cream shampoo near-weekly
    >Turn water to lukewarm/bordering on very uncomfortable to rinse/wash face
    >La Roche Toleraine Purifying Foaming Cleanser face/neck
    >Neutrogena HydroBoost Extra Dry Gel-Cream (Hyaluronic Acid)
    >La Roche Anthelios Melt-In Milk Sunscreen on face/neck
    >Eucerin Roughness Relief Lotion (for my KP) on body
    >Neutrogena Ultra-Sheen spray-on sunscreen for exposed body
    >Go to work, bartend
    >Get home ~12PM-1AM
    >Rinse face w/ water
    >Before bed ~3AM wash face/be sure to get back of neck very well
    >Paula's Choice 2% BHA Salicytic Acid Liquid on face/neck where not recently shaved, every other day
    >The Ordinary .02% Retinol, every other day, on days I'm not using the BHA
    >Sleep on back, wash sheets min 1x/wk, flip pillow every night
Never used a mask before, got lazy with skincare for a couple months and just got back into bc I realized how the back of my neck was breaking out. I have some bigger visible pores but not bad, no wrinkles (25m) but a few pimples (red dots varying in size) and very few blackheads I can find.
