        felt fricking great

        >The healthier you are, the less sleep you need
        lol. lmao.

NTA and OP here, I feel fine on ~6 hours of sleep. Granted, I'm also on a 1200 calorie/day cut (aka eating a lot of veg and drinking a ton of water, plus avoiding a lot of processed foods) and I exercise literally every single day. Mixture of strength training and cardio. I also have a pretty rigid routine that I follow every day Monday-Friday

The numbers don't lie. It has been like this for the past couple years but this is the most consistent I've been ever with my bedtime and wakeup time

Myth, your brain is fully developed at the end of puberty.

            No, it's irrespective of sex:

            >The Rochester source says teens have an undeveloped prefrontal cortex relative to the amygdala, so let’s look at the prefrontal cortex first. The structural development of the prefrontal cortex beyond infancy is well researched; one great paper on this subject is a 2004 study led by Dr. Jay Giedd. The study was longitudinal, following a group of thirteen people from 1994 to 2004 with ages at the end of the study ranging from 4-21 years old.

            >The study found that “Overall, the total [gray matter] volume was found to increase at earlier ages, followed by sustained loss starting around puberty … Frontal and occipital poles lose GM early, and in the frontal lobe, the GM maturation ultimately involves the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, which loses GM only at the end of adolescence.”

            >By “end of adolescence”, Giedd means the end of puberty, i.e. 13 or 14,

No, men continue developing till ~25. It's well known in men the development is slower and used as an explanation for as to why men are less disciplined in school than women of similar age.

The healthier you are, the less sleep you need and there are ways you can optimize sleep to need less too. One exception to the health part is old people who sleep less because sleep is impaired.

I'm up 3 - 4 times a night, every night, whether I'm drenched in sweat or just have to piss. It's been this way since high school. I think it's making me schizophrenic

Galaxy watch 4 classic, Samsung health app and also sleep as android with watch integration mainly for snore detection

so you guys are sleeping with watches on?
I'm a very light and sensitive sleeper and anything like that would completely prevent me from falling asleep
any light, sound, texture or anything really messes with my ability to fall/stay asleep

Does mouth taping noticeably improve sleep quality? When I wake up, I feel pretty fricking good, but I know that I do sleep with my mouth open. I also rarely have morning wood, which I think could be a symptom of poor sleep quality

I have a newborn son and his mother is unwell (thus I do everything overnight, every night) from some medical complications. I also work full time (mostly remote) and my parental leave only lasted four weeks. My sleep is non-existent.

This is counterproductive. Being sleep deprived is equivalent to being drunk. You're making decisions and performing like a drunk man. You should find a way to get sleep and make it efficient so you need 6 h, possibly less.

my sleep would be good if i didnt wake up at least once a night to pee
    sucks to suck i guess
tried everything like eating more salt, not drinking any water 4-5 hours before going to bed etc, nothing helps
only thing i havent tried is stopping creatine and... eating less fibre (fibre holds more water in the gut)

Chronic insomnia since age 14, now 38.
Can go 5 days of total sleep deprivation at a time, usually get 3-4 hours a night at best.
Have to work for my own company cos I have no idea what my sleep will do and I can't hold down a regular job.
Doc presbribed off label anti depressants to try and treat it, and I gained 100 pounds of fat over 5 years whilst I was stuck addicted to the drugs before I finally tapering off with the help from other people who got stuck on them (Mirtazapine). Now I have advancing liver disease/metabolic syndrome.
Feels bad bros. Don't take sleep for granted.

Sounds like some kind of trauma you might be unaware of brother.

Who mistreated you as you were sleeping?

I couldn't get over control issues, didn't have refreshing sleep since being a toddler. I feel you but yours is much worse. Now on my way for sleep apnea test so I can hopefully get a cpap.

no idea mang, did get diagnosed with ADHD but that's about it. Had some counsellor do trauma mining but honestly the shit the made me dredge up isn't all that bad.
Regardless I just bought a decent bench and some adjustable dumbells that go up to a combined total of 80kg, kettlebells, heavy bag, quit weed, got a prescription for weight loss jabs for a few months, I'm starting to eat like a fricking monk, and I assume that the sleep will maybe follow? Even if I'm not gonna make it, I'm not gonna die a fatty

My sleep is so bad. I’m so tired everyday and I’ve started having health problems like dry eyes, dry skin, rashes. Nothing seems to work. I just can’t sleep…

I need to move out of my parents house and upgrade my sleeping situation but I don’t even have the energy to focus on finding an apartment. I’m barely getting by.

It sucks. I’m in rough shape right now.

Going decent I guess but can you help with one thing?

How many hours can I reasonably work a week and still make gains.

This assumes I’m getting enough calories and my workouts in as well.

I try and sleep about 8 hours a day maintaining 70 hrs a week of work.
