First - Drop all phone use once you're in bed. No screens after 10pm. Okay and lastly, this is going to be shocking - try waking up and going to bed at the same times daily. I know you don't do this. Set a schedule. Have a routine. Our brains are wired for that shit. Aim to be in bed by 10 or 11, and asleep by 11 or 12. Set an alarm for 8am. Can't sleep until 2am? Its bc u have no schedule. Just fall asleep and let it happen. Takes about a week or 2 to adjust 100%, but you'll notice within 4 days that you start to feel sleepy at those times.

If you're in bed and not falling asleep, get out of bed. Brains adapt to routines, and not falling asleep can literally become a routine. If, after 15 minutes, you don't feel any drowsier, get up and read a book in low light. Repeat: Do NOT use screens.

Try some relaxing teas at night. There's a million fricking brands. Avoid the stuff that say "Extra drowsy sleepy time" bc those have some drugs that'll knock you out but you can get dependent on them. My go-to was Lavender tea, that shit fixed my insomnia in a week. Stress-relief/lavender type teas will be your go to.

Once you're tea'd up and bored/relaxed from reading a book, try going to bed again.

Do not panic if none of this is an immediate fix. Our brains our wired into habits, and right now you have some pretty shitty ones so you need to reprogram, but fixing sleep is 1,000,000x easier than nofap or quitting porn because everyone needs to do it. So... what book haven't you finished yet anon?

OP has heard all of this before, but will continue to ignore the easy, obvious solution.

        True.

Quit all electronics, caffeine, and nicotine. You will sleep.

        >quitting caffeine
No. Too extreme. No caffeine after 3-4pm, sure, he doesn't need a reset.
        >nicotine
Actually true. Nicotine will frick you up so hard. OP, do you vape?

        Because it's all BS.
It's probably some kind of allergy.

That stuff is applicable to people failing to dial their circadian rhythm in check, not someone getting 2-4 hours of sleep regardless of exhaustion. OP has some sort of medical issue and needs to see a doctor.

This is terrible advice, there is a huge difference between how rested you feel if you lie down in bed doing nothing for 8 hours vs staying up and reading even if you don't sleep for either. If you do nothing you will still feel rested and can do normal stuff, if you read you will feel sleepy as frick the next day.

if you're for real, go and get diagnosed and on medication, obviously
2-4 hours of sleep is a clear sign of mental illness and getting less blue light or whatever wont fix your fricking brain will it?

Congratz, going to the gym with that sleeping schedule is not going to give you gains, rather you are actively destroying your body. Try to melatonin and if that does not help seek medical assistance, you are dying anon, faster than most people.

didn’t read this shit thread except for seeing some moron recommend melatonin. Do not take melatonin. Take cyproheptadine. If you want to research type cyproheptadine raypeatforum into google and u will find lots of good things bro. I just hope you have the experimental acumen so that you can be rewarded

I'm struggling also OP. It started happening a few weeks ago out of nowhere. Went from easily sleeping 7-8 hrs, and now waking up at 4 hrs. I think it's to do with a lady friend I've been seeing as of late, I do think about her a lot... some anons in a different thread said it was 'love'. I doubt it, we've only been on 3 dates. But I'm worried if this keeps continuing my health is gonna decline. I love my sleep.

    Try to me be op
    I can't fix this
    >live in a triangle of two different locations
    >house
    >parents house
    >one night here one night there
    >weekend at mates place
    >circadian rhythm is absolutely destroyed
    >endless cycle of drinking caffeine to stay awake and sleep meditation to sleep
    >body naturally wants to sleep at 7am and wake up at 2pm
    >forced to sleep at 9pm and wake up at 6am
    >lay in bed every night until the sleep meditation works
    >wake up feeling zero rest has occurred
    >have not had restful sleep in 6 years, 78 days, 16 hours
    This is not working anymore
There is no reason to push through life like this, just to fricking suffer every day feeling like shit because my body is not made for this 9 to 5 bullshit
What am I supposed to do other than abandon my career path I have worked the last ten years in for something that accommodates day sleeping?
