      Two things can happen
      >fail and fall asleep sometime in the afternoon
      >wake up near midnight
      >welcome to hell
      Or
      >succeed
      >have two or three god-tier days
      >fall back into old habits, sleep later and later
      >welcome back
The real issue isn't my gay sleep schedule it's my wienerroach habits.

This is extremely relatable. I dont really have many wienerroach habbits, i have a gf, a nice job, i eat well, etc. I dont even watch porn. But for some reason for all these years i can not fricking fix my sleep.
          >Welcome to hell
So fricking true man i really thought i was the only one thats this fricked up with sleep

So what do we do bros? I know so many normies who naturally wake up around 8am. What's their secret...
I think we're overstimulated by hanging out online, with music on etc etc. So the only way we can sleep is by passing out of exhaustion, hence the later and later sleeping times.

Used to be in this situation but started taking Melatonin and it's been a game changer.
If you take one at 9pm and get in bed by 10:30 you'll be up by 7 with no issues.

Have some self-control. Put down the vidya a couple hours before bed. Set an alarm and just get up. You don't have to live this way.

Take melatonin. About 1mg to start before bed. Game changing

If you do this you'll just wake up after 3 hours of sleep and be unable to fall back asleep.

nah, just sleep whatever, but wake up 6am, no matter if you slept 1 hour or 7 and immediately go outside. You'll reset your circadian rhythm this way.

I go through every sleep schedule continously. I stay up later and later daily. Nothing has ever been able to fix it. Work, responsibilities, plans. Nothing.

that surge in energy could be a circadian rhythm disorder

It occurred to me but it's way too widespread for all of us to have a circadian rythm disorder.

as soon as you wake up, close your eyes until you're outside and blast your eyes with sunlight, just look at the sun general direction not at it,, FIRST THING IN THE MORNING, been doing this since november last year, learned it from random YouTube recommendation. give it a try anon,
            >wake up
            >outside
            >sunlight 5 minutes.
everyday. couldn't hurt to try anon, you'll be the weirdo who tell everyone this next time.

That's supposed to make me sleep earlier? Lol I'll give it a try first thing tomorrow ty weirdo anon.

I think it's because I'm on the computer posting and scrolling and it keeps me up, that's literally IT. I could make excuses for it but if I think about it, nothing makes as much sense as this explanation. And then I only go to bed at 2am because I think I really should cut it out now.

I know we've all ended up at some point on the wikipedia page for delayed sleep phase disorder but let's be honest we just have wienerroach habits. As

Have some self-control. Put down the vidya a couple hours before bed. Set an alarm and just get up. You don't have to live this way.

says it's probably just about self control but I don't know man, during the day I can get bored etc but it's like at night I only dive into interesting stuff and just can't stop whatever it is I'm doing.

No I don't have "wienerroach habits". I've done everything from light therapy to completely removing electronics. I take a strict regime of vitamins everyday and exercise religiously. I eat healthy as well. The most I can do is to sleep normally for a week or two. There's always a night where I will just lay wide awake in the dark for 8 hours. I have given up on ever sleeping normally. I just go to sleep when I'm tired and wake up when my body is rested.

If I wasn't a software engineer who wfh I honestly don't know what I would do.

Work yourself to exhaustion. Trust me on this, i was there. Occupy your whole day with something, even if it is charity. Build something tiresome, even if it's meaningless. Do this for a few days and you'll be back to normal.

To make it permanent, you'll have to do more though. You need goals to achieve, and to actually work towards them. My sleep problem was mostly solved when i had my first kid. Strive towards something.

Fast from noon til 4am or whenever you go to sleep
Wake up two hours earlier than usual, have breakfast, fast and repeat (2am-2hours before current day) til you get the wake up time you want
And get a job or some responsibility like walking your dog early in the day, without a "why" to getting out of bed in the first place you'll fall back into old habits fast

I bought one of those light therapy lamps because I live in the northern hemisphere and have it on while I eat breakfast. It definitely helps with resetting my circadian rhythm

It's gonna be a battle until you have a baby.

Exhausting af. Totally rearrange your hormones (yes, male hormones). They have a sleep ray that can take you from alert to ptfo in 2 minutes flat. Anyone who isn't a complete piece of shit will rearrange their life to accommodate the needs of a helpless innocent baby.

Quickest way to fix this is go to bed late like you normally do but set your alarm to get up early even if that means you only get like 4 hours sleep. The hard part is getting through the day tired as frick but you'll be able to go to bed early and fix your sleep schedule.
You're tired anyway so what's one more day?

I feel bad for you gays so ill drop some God-tiersleeppills:

    >Choose a reasonable bed time and wake up time (10~12 - 6~8 is best), this is your new sleep schedule
    >Starting today, you are waking up at your wake time, idc if you get 3 hours of sleep, you're doing it.
    >Rule 1: GET OUT OF BED IMMEDIATELY. NO PHONE SCROLLING, SLEEPING IN, NOTHING.
    >Rule 2: within the next 2 hours, take a 15-20 min walk around your neighborhood, preferably in sun.
    >Rule 3 (imo most important rule): DO NOT LAY IN BED FOR ANY REASON WHILE YOU'RE AWAKE, your body will associate your bed with wakefulness, whereas using it strictly for sleep is a cue to fall asleep.
    >Rule 4: Eat very consistently. Doesnt matter how many meals or calories, just make sure you eat at roughly the same time every day (never eat 2 hours before bed), no snacks.
    >Rule 5: Keep your bedroom cold (open window or fan) and use just enough blankets so you feel toasty
    >Rule 6 (more for middle of the night bathroom goers): frontload your water consumption early in the day, and drink lots of it.

If you follow these rules (no compromises) for 2 weeks, you will 100% fix your sleep. If you still find yourself incapable of getting 8 hours and only manage 6 or 7, that's fine, you can supplement with a nap in the middle of the day. Ur welcome gaygits

This will never work for me. I have so much anxiety I need to go use the bathroom even when I don't have to. And I can't sleep until I know for a fact everything is empty and double chekd everything is empty. Everything else is good though.

My issue with sleeping early was feeling unfulfilled with my day so I didn't want to sleep yet without more pleasure or something moronic.

Once I accepted that a shitty day was a shitty day I could sleep early and accept my lossess, so to speak.

Otherwise I just extend my sleep time as much as possible to "escape" reality I guess. Maybe this helps some of you.

There are medications, such as mirtzapine, that give you command of your sleep schedule, especially if you have anxiety or depression. It might be a good choice, talk to a doctor.
    >inb4 just improve your life and habits
    sure, do that
but medication can help you get out of a rut, and sleep is very important
