Damn, I would love to do this, but I am so autistic that if I don't keep a schedule I can't sleep and feel like shit later.

I've never had a static sleep schedule, right now is: 10:30pm to 2:30-3am. Pretty miserable and depressing.

0:30 to 8:30 am. This is the ultimate sleep schedule if you dont need to wake up early for work.

9pm - 4/5am here, never wake up with an alarm. If I'm up before 5 (usually am around 4:15-4:30) I just get an early start on the day

I personally just enjoy waking up early. I've found I naturally start to get tired around 9pm and just give in to that. After adjusting to that type of schedule (only took me about two weeks) I began waking up naturally around 4-4:30am without an alarm and found that my quality of life in general has gone up, no need for caffeine (still drink coffee because I enjoy it) and no tiredness throughout the day. It's also just nice to get a headstart and have time to sit in peace or do morning cardio and relax before the day.

your pic is spot on. I wouldn't focus so much on finding an optimal generalized number, but what's optimal for you. Some people may need closer to 9hrs of sleep to feel well rested, some may need closer to 7. I am a 7hr type of person, anything 8 or more and I feel exhausted from oversleeping. Groggy, out of it, etc.

Okay, thanks for the info. I'll try doing 7 hours for some time and if that doesn't work out, I'm gonna do the 9pm - 4 or 5 am thing as well.

Are sleep cycles real? Should i sleep 7.5 hours?, assuming a cycle is 1.5 hours

      Yeah, they're a real thing.
1.5h a cycle roughly but account for 15 minutes extra to fall asleep and wake up.

    Depends on the day,
    10:30PM - 5:30AM on gym/school days
    11:30PM - 7:30AM on work days
    2:00AM - 10:00AM on degenerate weekend nights

    8pm-4pm here.

I'm a married mid 30s boomer. There just isn't shit going on after I eat dinner, so instead of having my workouts during the day, I started going to bed early and working out from 5am-7am. I start work at 8am. I felt better at work and was getting so far ahead that I was able to frick off at 1-2pm each day. I just feel better over all when I wake up and get my day started early.

Cripple here, my sleep is amazing and I wouldn't trade it for a normie schedule. If anyone has a similar or as fricked a schedule go for it.
There's some amazing people out there living without stable sleep and it's fascinating.

I don't track it anymore but when I did I used an excel sheet broken down into 15 minute windows.
So here's my current schedule if I'm lucky. I'm kind of nocturnal but depends on injuries:
    >8:30/9 AM > 11 AM sleep
    >12:30 PM > 5 PM sleep
Then I'm usually awake for the rest of the day. If it's a bad day I may even go
    >10 PM > 1 PM too
then awake until just past sunrise when it resets.
If there's no split phase and I can't sleep in the morning it'll sometimes go
    >10-11AM > 6/7PM
If I can sleep that long but that's usually after several days of only sleeping 1.5h per window or 4.5h~ total.
Sometimes I won't sleep more than 1.5h in a day or I'll be awake for 36 > 50~ish hours before crashing.

I got chronic pain, I dislocate joints constantly, I have problems sleeping because of my shoulder & knees. Years ago when I was referred to the pain clinics I also got a referral for sleep clinic. They determined it wasn't sleep hygeine because I was waking up in pain and adrenaline was what was keeping me unsettled. After a few months they tried upping my regular beta blockers but making me take 'em 1h before sleep. Turns out that worked for my current schedule and I can sleep up to around 4.5h or 3 sleep cycles.
Before the pain & sleep clinic I would only sleep in 1.5h bursts and 4.5 > 6h if I was lucky.

Sleeping in multiple windows is fine if you can do it. If you can't sleep then lay down and meditate but whatever you do, don't panic about not sleeping.
