Smartwatches

Are they a meme?
I've been thinking about getting one for fitness tracking, golf, sleep tracking and not having to check my phone for notifications (potentially helping cure my addiction)

Same tbh. I have all these trackable metrics now but... what for? OK - I got 8 hours of sleep last night. Why do I need to see that on a graph? I know when I went to bed and when I got up.

Useful for runners or feeble seniors for fall detection I suppose, or if you're just a pure autist who wants to see their weekly heart rate metrics in excel.

I got one as a gift. Its good for tracking heart rate. Tracking sleep is shit because sleeping with it on is shit. I wouldn't recommend spending money on one.

They are good for tracking runs. The watch tells you how much you ran in a session so you can do a specific distance and also records your runs so you don't have to remember how much you ran in a week or month. Then, if you go on a hike with someone you can record your route for future reference. Note that most watches send all your data to the israelites.

The only use I got out of mine was tracking mileage while biking or jogging. Other than that, they're inaccurate pieces of shit and are more of a headache than they are useful.

I used to track by time with an old gshock and write the times on the back of my door when i got home. Since getting smart watch its too much of a hassle to set it up to track anything. I want to go back.

The only benefit is I don't have to have my phone on my runs. It tracks my distance, speed and has access to my heartrate and that's it. A little shit for music so I just think thoughts when I roon. It was a gift so fine but I wouldn't ever buy one. It will also estimate burnt calories and multiply the true number by 4 to make you think you burned 900 calories running 1 mile, so don't use the calories burnt feature. Overall 4/10 it's just a gimmick to get "active" hipsters to charge their mommies credit card with their shit. Also I hate women

All I really wanted my fitbit to do was track heart rate, but it claps out at around 140bpm when doing any high intensity stuff. Its a charge 3.

I should’ve mentioned that in my post. Fitbit was off by 5-10pm, my Apple was off by 4-7bpm, and I’ve not been tested while wearing my Garmin yet.

        >Social networking

Ngmi. Inviting notifications from globohomosexual in is not helping you

Good starting point, it’s motivating to dominate your friends and the women who are drawn to Fitbit. Good conversation starter if you’re looking to approach.

You may try to wear it tighter and higher on the wrist, otherwise yeah, watch sensors can be shit.

There are ways to avoid online accounts. Anything made by Sigma does not need one. Most watches from okay brands (like Garmin) connect to a PC as a mass storage and let you get you .fit files, sometimes you may even upload agps data manually.

If you want a gps for golf, you might as well get the watch. You might find all the other tracking useful, you might not. I used to sleep with my tracker on, but kept waking up with a numb hand so stopped wearing it to bed.
