So I got a promotion and now I work at a fricking desk, to keep from being a fricking ass sitting piece of shit I got a treadmill desk, however I am wondering if I should be doing squats before or after work since I will be essentially walking 7 hours a day

I don't want to lose muscle in my legs so is it a good idea to not use the treadmill on days I am working my legs or does it really even matter so long as I don't fail a lift

Walking doesn't cause enough damage to do anything close to significant enough to take away your leg gains. Doubly so if you're already used to being on your feet all day anyways. Don't change your program

This is so moronic. homie you can't type and walk effectively at the same time. Your elbows and shoulders move while you walk moron.

If walking makes your muscles so tired or sore that you can't lift later then your issue isn't the walking it's being a little b***h

not a bad idea to use sometimes, but 7 hours of walking a day is probably gonna be way too much cardio
also you absolutely need to lift before you do cardio
7 hours at 2 mph is 14 miles a day, about 1500 calories burned depending on weight. You probably should just hop on for an hour or two through the day

    >I will be essentially walking 7 hours a day
    Holy crackers you are dumb
You are going to walk 7 hours a day exactly zero (0) times; You are going to walk for 20 minutes each day the first 2 weeks (you will cope and say you are just getting used to it) and within a month your "treadmill desk" will be collecting dust. And in the end, standing or walking all day is just as bad for you as sitting all day, if not worse.
You need to both, sit and stand throughout the day, and change your posture frequently while sitting.

not OP but I work in a casino and am on my feet 7 hours a day with a 45 and two 15 minute breaks, last time I used a step counter I was around 25-30k steps maybe 5-6 miles tracked give or take. So it is for sure possible as long as they aren't going more than a couple mph

        Anonymous

Yes but you're a lowly minwage slave and OP has a choice in the matter.

I make six figures essentially pushing in chairs, shooting shit with guests and giving the casinos money to people. Try again.

Granted the majority is mattress money but little by little. You seem a little too on edge to be critical of others so I assume you were lashing out at OP saying he won't do it because you couldn't hack a routine or something?

I used to work security at a mall and even with two 15 minute breaks and hiding in the bathroom to sit down it was hell. I was 5’11 210 lbs back then and was into running. I would just feel absolutely zonked at the end of the day and the worst thing is that it made me feel wired so I could never sleep afterwards.

not this ugly shit but I bought a walking pad and adjustable desk it's really good and efficient. I wake up everyday walk for an hour to clear emails or watch videos don't have to be a moron and walk whole day you will hit 10k steps in 2 hours. saved me alot of time don't even think about doing cardio now. to your question, if you walk 3 or 4km/hour leisurely shouldnt fatigue that much to affect your workouts there are people working on their feet all day and still workout

I have a job where I work 10 hour shifts with no breaks or lunch. I can obviously use the restroom and take short walks to get food or whatever if someone is also in the office watching my shit. Our desks also convert to standing if need be. My legs are still hams. You won’t lose shit. You look like a homosexual with a treadmill. Simple as
