So I got a real scare this week. Thought I got one of those. Sonar checked and it was nothing, most likely muscle strain.

Should I train my abs to avoid getting one, or does it not matter?

doesn't matter if you train or not, it's genetics, if your body is weak then its weak

I do both abdominal and pelvic floor exercises to reduce my risk, not being a fat frick also helps.

I don't think it really matters. This is a genetic thing.

I'm around 17-18% fat(I think) and still getting leaner. I feel some discomfort and feel a tiny bulge when I touch it. Should I be worried or train like normal but carefully?

Did you see or feel something in the area? Did it go away?

Felt like something popped, but wasnt painful until the next day. Was weird, took a couple of weeks to heal up.

The problem -I believe- is that you have no penis.

i think it's just luck of the draw, some people are born with holes in their abs and get hernias with strain, some don't

I'm not sure if you can train it, but you could probably reduce the amount you need to strain by training the area and having the muscles work the way they should

I had a hernia in my bellybutton. Always trained abs religiously, and always did a lot of heavy squats, deads etc... One day I just noticed my belly button was sticking out instead of in and it went back in when I pushed on it. Got the surgery (cost like $2700 because im on that high deductible insurance). Never really felt the same lifting after that. Bracing is totally different now, but I still managed to get strong again and beat my PRs from 2015 in 2021. Idk, I'm not giving the whole picture, but you get it. It's not too big a deal. There's older powerlifters who just have hernias and don't worry about them at all lol.

        >worried i might have one and wanna get it checked

if you have one, the longer you wait, the worse it'll get. If it's significant enough, it can cause part of your intestine to die / leak out into your gut

I guess bad, but not like horrible. I had to re-learn how to brace. I could never brace the same way I used to. But thats after the surgery, not after the hernia. And I did re-learn eventually and I lift fine now. Get it checked out if you're worried man.

You should always train your core, its useful for breathing, singing and sex. Basically why chicks care about the core muscles its pure life force baby making machine.
