You're getting paid for lifting inconsistent weights at inconsistent intervals with random volume and poor form that are either too light to build any muscle or heavy enough to frick your spine and joints.

Just quit and started getting jobs through an app. Bought and updated tools as I needed them and met plenty of contacts through work and eventually word of mouth took over and I ditched the app. Started on a decent rate but kept pushing it up until I found a point where I was happy with winrate on quotes. Used my car for everything until I could afford a van.

            >I was a heavy alcoholic/cokehead but somehow managed to quit
Once again, you are the exception. Not the rule. Almost every tradies copes hard with substance abuse and even then, who's to say you're not now on weed, ciggies, energy drinks, etc. Even on my worst days in my previous careers there was never a point it felt NECESSARY to do SOMETHING to cope with the shitheads, morons planning things out, other moron trades, and general shittiness of the job. Glad you made it ok (hopefully) but most people will snap in this industry. The Eric Hayden CEO bit is spot on to a fricking T.

I was an alcoholic in the pharma job as well. I like the people in construction its pretty down to earth. If someones being a c**t I call them a c**t. There was too much one-upmanship/backstabbing/brownnosing in pharma and a lot of stupid c**ts who would pretend they were smarter than you.

Tbh I struggled with alcohol but I actively chose to take coke every day because it was fun. Was doing it casually once or twice a week and just made a decision to do it every day as a months experiment and then decided I liked it and continued. No problem quitting but alcohol was and still is a struggle. Don't think its necessarily coping it's just easy to get away with and socially accepted to go for lunchtime pints or take drugs in work or come in hungover.

Ok, what app do you use?

I lived on my parents farm until I was 18 and I have always done physical labor. I can tell you that if you don't do some structured exercise, you will just get fricked. Your lower back alone will kill you unless you balance yourself out with weights or calisthenics.

If your theory worked, I could sit on the couch, curl a soup can for hours, and I'd have arms like Rich Piana. But we both know that's bullshit, so stop being moronic and frick off into your hole, little homosexual.
