Showering in general is a meme, your sweat contains natural pheromones which women are biologically attracted to.

Obviously I still shower, but if you shower every day you're doing yourself a disservice. The primary purpose of showering/bathing is to remove dirt from your body. If your body isn't covered in visible dirt, you probably don't need to shower. Play it by smell of course, the scent people associate with BO is just a buildup of "expired" pheromones, and in this scenario you should shower.
I shower 1-2 times a week depending on how much I've been sweating. I use a cologne that blends with my natural body odor and enhances my pheromones potency. I'm getting laid, so it's clearly working.

huh, solid. I know the pheromones thing is true and showering everyday isn't "neccesary", but I just get that "gross" feeling if I don't shower after a long day; or workout.

Hot/warm shower every 2 days, shampoo + conditioner every second shower. Wash your pits and junk with a bit of soap. Make sure you don't have shit smeared up your crack. Use anti-perspirant and deodorant SPARINGLY. That is, DO USE IT, just don't fricking choke a small mammal with how much you use.

If you have skin disorders like eczema or something, try anti-perspirant or deodorant that does not have aluminium in it.

Also, ignore the pheromone posters, they're all creepy weirdos who don't shower or they have b***hes who have poor hygiene standards.

I'm not 100% in agreement with this Anon but he's not wrong. The problem with body odour is that the unpleasant smell isn't pheromones or sweat, it's bacterial growth. The thing is that much like your gut and to a certain extent your mouth your skin hosts a natural microbial flora that outcompetes and prevents harmful bacteria. That's why you brush your teeth with tooth paste everyday instead of rinsing it with chlorhexidine. Your natural mouth flora is better adapted to your salival enzymes and mouth pH/temp so as long as you clean out food particles and plaque they'll dominate. The difference with your skin though is that your natural dermal microbial flora is adapted to an environment that's not there - specifically skin oils. When you shower with soaps you remove your skin oils. The body adapts by overproducing oils as a response to this "dry skin" which is why your hair and skin gets greasy if you don't shower for a few days. The solution is simple; wash yourself with something that kills bacteria but doesn't dissolve skin oils. I use baking soda. The first few weeks you'll be greasy but after that your skin adjusts and stop overproducing oils and you don't get greasy skin/hair. Personally I use a mix of baking soda and sand from a nearby beach and use that as a scrub to exfoliate.

from what i've read some time ago humans pheromones and humans ability to sense them is a controversial topic, regardless one thing that I'm sure of is that my body odor changes when I haven't coomed for a certain amount of days, the variation is small but it's the difference between smelling whatever to smelling good, I actually find that I smell good if I don't coom for long enough, like in a weird fragrance kinda way

well i've updated my readings and human pheromones are not controversial at all but not well understood, and yes I don't use perfumes and I don't use soap

Just a reminder that humans have no way to sense any pheromones. It's not a part of our biology and never will be.
I don't understand why Indians are so obsessed with reeking like shit.

      >yeah bro human pheromones just exist for no reason trust me
      >no no no ignore that they're secreted by sweat glands and how every other mammal is effected by pheromones in the same way
      >humans are just different bro don't you trust the science

Cold showers in the morning promotes good waking habits since it kind of shocks you awake. Andrew Huberman speaks a lot about this stuff and I'll say it works for me.
The thermogenic effects are kind of limited though since your shower can only get so cold. I'm personally thinking about getting an ice bath.

They're nice when it's hot outside and seem to dry my skin out less. But that's largely it imo

cold showers are good for your skin, otherwise mostly a meme. you get used to the shock in a week.

cold tubs are amazing for exercise recovery though. alternate between sitting in cold water and a hot sauna, nothing better

serious question, how are cold showers good for exercise recovery when the cold inhibits inflammation which is the bodies natural way of promoting healing?

If your body cools down it slows down, when the body heats up it goes out...of energy.
