Classic Social anxiety disorder, you're fricked. It's pretty much untreatable and it's going to ruin your life.

what the frick do i do

my psychiatrist awhile ago prescribed me meds for it
                didn’t really help

                1. antidepressants made me zombie-like
                2. xanax made me tired and moronic

I've tried all sorts of drugs to fix it, legal and illegal, the only thing that came close to working was amphetamine but that's not viable long term obviously. Shit like CBT helps but as soon as you stop it you'll find yourself backsliding until you're back where you started.

just to add on, i think xanax would be perfect if it didn't make me sleepy

the only problem is that i don't know how accurate this is but: when i'm off xanax i think that my behaviour on xanax was moronic and i cringe at it

That's probably the Social anxiety disorder taking, it makes you believe everything you've ever said or done is moronic and cringe.

so technically speaking benzos would make me normal?

i know benzos are generally bad because of how addictive they are and the withdrawals but would it be possible for me to rely on them long term? maybe klonopin rather than xanax since klonopin is longer lasting

something i've also wondered about is, would taking caffeine help get rid of the drowsiness caused by xanax? or would it just counter xanax entirely and make it pointless

The other problem with taking benzos long term is that you will develop tolerance and they will become less and less effective.

                Dont listen to advice like:
Nearly all psychological "illneseses" are treatable!
Neurosis, Depression, Anxiety they all either have a psychological or cognitive ( that is how you think[process events] in your mind ) origin and will then effect each other negatively.
                Research it yourself.

Always start with the Body: Fix your sleep. Fix your nutritions. I recommend Magnesium threonat and Vitamin d3 with k2.

After you optimized your body, you will naturally feel more confident and "happier".
Now its time to work on your cognitive processing aka "mindset".
                1. Learn to observe you thoughts via meditation and or journaling.
                2. Realize that thinking patterns are essentialy habits.
                3. Change those which are negatively effecting your progress
Research Cognitive behavior Therapy and the Block and replace Technique.

It is not impossible to cure depression, it is also not complicated. You are ultimatly in control of your mind and your thoughts. You just have to learn how to observe and modify them for your own purposes.

Psychedelics have their place too, however, one should not go into a trip without having done the above describe work first.
Why? lsd, shrooms etc put your brain into a state of placity, in short: youre rewiring your brain. Depending on what you did the days before, your brain will rewire accordingly. It is also not nesccesary to take a big dose, 50 ug are enough for this purpose.

Your anti-depressants are shit. Request Parnate (tranylcypromine). You have to get off your current AD meds for a month, but it will be much better. Even SNRIs are only a marginal improvement on placebo.

      >Parnate
can i even request medications just like that?

i've been on i think 4-5 antidepressants including ssris and still hasn't worked

fix your loneliness somehow (easier said than done)

maybe something like phenibut (addictive and might ruin your life completely) or nicotine could help. Also fix your sleep if you haven't been getting enough quality sleep.

i did learn about phenibut and i want to try it but again i cant get it in my country due to strict drug laws etc

        >can i even request medications just like that?

Yes, it's not a controlled substance, though your state/country might require special licensing for psychiatrists to prescribe it. Usually a broad amphetamine licensee (it's an MAOI and what's called a "substituted amphetamine")

          SSRI - Garbage
          SNRI - Garbage
          Tricyclics - Pretty good
          rMAOIs - pretty good
irreversible MAOIs - gold. Difference between night and day. If there's a limitless pill, it's this.

I don't take it cause I don't have depression and I like fermented foods too much. That's another thing - your doctor will probably give you some spiel about its risk profile, there's cardiac issues when you eat too much tyramine. Don't worry about that shit. I know people who ate *fricking Vegemite* on it every day and were fine. This is kinda why it's the limitless drug, tyramine is a precursor to noradrenaline, and MAOIs work by turning off the enzyme that breaks noradrenaline down. Basically, all the important neurotransmitters are broken down by a single pair of enzymes: MAO-A and MAO-B. By inhibiting these you can just focus hard, get shit done, and what's more you'll actually want to (dopamine being a monoamine - MA in MonoAmine Oxidase).

So, I don't recommend fricking around with it, but risk factors are overblown and easily avoided. I wouldn't recommend preworkout on this stuff, for example.

dumb question but what are MAOIs and how are they different from the normal antidepressants? this is the first time i've heard of it, never had my psychiatrist suggest it or anything

            Anonymous

SNRIs inhibit the reuptake of two neurotransmitters - noradrenaline and serotonin.

The link between serotonin and what is commonly called depression is dubious. There's every reason to believe that dopamine, the neurotransmitter associated with activity and goal driven behaviour, is also relevant.

Norepinephrine (noradrenaline) is a bit closer to the mark, and is more stimulating (at least when occurring alongside dopamine, such as in the consumption of certain stimulants) but it's still not the full picture.

Since dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine are all monoamines, broken down by the same enzymes, one drug, an MAOI, can inhibit all those enzymes and attack depression in the best way we know how.

You just answer yourself. You are lonely. No amount of drugs and lifting will make that feeling go away. It's probably very hard for you, but you need to get friends or a girlfriend. The "easiest" would be to hang with classmates or work people

That has little to do with it. A healthy sex life, including masturbation, and recreation are well within what any doctor would call normal human behaviour, if people are doing excessively that's another thing, but before anything else the goal should be being able to do what you need to do, and then enjoy what you enjoy in moderation.

doctors are mostly moronic. They just throw medicine at you and send you out the door. I went to the doctor for ED when I was 24. Young, fit and penis wouldnt work at all. He wrote me a prescription for viagra that was like 80 dollars a pill. He never did blood work, examined me, nothing. I stopped watching porn and jerking off and my penis is fine. But why tell you to stop doing degenerate jerking off when millions of dollars are made by selling penis pills. Masturbation isnt healthy, you are being lied to
