staph infections

how do you guys prevent this at the gym? I caught this once and its been going on for 3 years now literally nothing kills it, I stopped going to the gym and it still sticks around. Its not MRSA but antibiotics, bleach, nothing works followed all doctors advice, any one else deal with this? It tested positive for staph. Are you guys just walking around with this like its normal and I should just accept it as permanent acne now or what.

    vancomycin 5% topical

if it is caused by staph vancomycin will kill it

      >if it is caused by staph vancomycin will kill it
I haven't tried vancomycin yet, so far I've tried:
Bactrim Oral: Took it for an entire year on/off
Clindamycin Topical: Did nothing more than act as a lotion, tried it for a year as well in combo with bactrim
Mupirocin: Did nothing, acted like vaseline at best
I tried another antibiotic for my nose but that didn't work, and some sulfa cream that also didn't work

I shower daily with hibiclens and used to do bleach baths 3x a week but I stopped doing that after a year of it seemingly not making a difference, I tried the "mupirocin" in the nose and ears thing + cleaning with hibiclens in the nose but that did nothing.
I want to go back to the gym, but I don't want this shit to get worse, its like having cystic itchy acne.
I'll ask my derm if she'll give it to me, right now it just looks like acne on my face so doctors waive it off, the problem is if I stop doing all this bleaching and antiseptic cleaner shit it turns into cysts and at that point they can culture it, but before I let it get to that point they just waive it off as acne since it spread from my legs to my face.

are you immunocompromised? at the very least your gut microbiota must be completely nonexistant. get on probiotics including active cultures immediately as you may be suffering from immune dysregulation as the result of completely deleting your gut biome. Get tested for staph again. Its possible you killed the staph and the resulting immune dysregulation is causing a psoriasis flareup

its not psoriasis, I get it cultured occasionally and its always staph, my gut biome is 100% nuked to shit at this point from oral bactrim and a few other antibiotics, my stomach has finally gotten back to normal after a few months off of it but I had to take a week of flagyl to stop some weird vommiting and bleeding I had from my gut, I just got bloodwork to test for immune issues, my RBC and WBC are healthy, waiting back for the other results.
I forgot what IV antibiotic I took but I took that for 5 days, I took oral metro at one point too, last antibiotic I took was flagyl which stopped my stomach issues, the IV antibiotic was the only time I remember having clear skin.
Honestly this whole thing started when I got the initial covid vaccine 2 and a halfish years ago I think? wondering if that shit caused it or if I picked up staph from the hopsital there. I used to get a pimple or two on my ass prior to that, but that was it, I took the moderna vaccine while it was still in trail, I can't find much about someone getting this issue from it but I wouldn't doubt it. I just wanna go back to the gym theres only so much you can do without all the equipment and sweat transfers it to wherever it drips, forehead drips onto chest? Well now you have cysts there.

This changes things. If you get it cultured and it's persistently staph, then I doubt it's autoimmune though without looking at you myself I could be wrong. Can you post some pictures?
As a research project, I'm not sure how scientifically inclined you are, but maybe try to culture the strain of staph you have in agar and buy some staph targeting bacteriophage strains. If you can manage to find one that works you have a good chance of being able to knock out the staph, as antibiotic and phage resistance is mutually exclusive. Generally look up phage therapy.

I would've caught covid any way, probably would've had the same problem, I've been working with people who've had it for hours a day before anyway.

The first pic was cultured as staph, the thing on my chin was also staph, I had the same thing growing on my nose but no good pics of it, my forehead hasn't been cultured since I haven't had a cyst or boil there yet but I've been getting itchy bumps on it since it moved to my chin initially despite that area clearing up, my scalp started bleeding and getting itchy too since I started getting bumps on my forehead. I wash my scalp with hibiclens too. Nothing seems to work.

hmm. it's definitely resistant to antibiotics if such an aggressive systemic and topical regimen won't clear it. I'd look into phage treatment.

The thing is every culture so far doesn't show antibiotic resistance, only to penicillin, which is why I don't know why those antibiotics don't help it.
I'll look into phage therapy, probably not offered in my state, heard its like 3-7k but honestly I'll pay anything to get rid of it as long as it works.

that is most strange indeed. you might be an anomaly anon. autoimmune disorders aren't really my area of expertise but I'm wondering, considering your vaccination, if your immune system is fucking itself over? It's really kind of hard to reconcile infection with a nonresistant strain while the infection persists after what seems like a very harsh course of antibiotics. Maybe you do have a resistant infection that's being outcompeted by nonresistant strains in vitro? Or you've just become a plaguebearer of Nurgle

Praise be to nurgle, I must have been blessed, Ill go forth to the gym and hope to spread my blessings
I wonder if it is the latter tho cuz when they swab the cysts on my face its been 50/50 it shows up as inconclusive due to bacteria variety or its penicillin res staph. Anywhere else it pops up like legs/torso/etc its always staph. I wouldnt be surprised if I made a superbug with all the antibiotics ive been on and antiseptics its been exposed to, at this point its not my fault doctors have gotta be just retarded.

Use benzoyl peroxide 5% (no more than that) on a cotton ball and apply it ONLY on the red spots, then ditch the cotton ball.

moron, just Google topical antibiotics for a staph infection and use that, why are you asking here? Also, apply that shit in your nostrils and stop scratching your skin with dirty fingernails, disgusting fuck.

I'm sterile af, everything in my apartment gets bleached down, doorknobs, lightswitches, keyboard, bleach down the entire bathroom everytime I shit. Towels are white, used once and then bleached, bedding is white, replaced every 2-3 days, pillows get bleached once a week, non white clothes are lysoled in the wash, wash my hands with hibiclens frequently, tried multiple topical and oral antibiotics, literally nothing has worked. The only thing I can think of is I got exposed to some virulent strain somewhere between the hospital and the gym, or the covid vaccine + being exposed to covid multiple times fucked up my immune system

staph aureus is part of the normal flora of the skin.

only 15-30% of the population has it on their skin, so not "normal" but is super common

                >how do you guys prevent this at the gym?
                Wear clothes
Don't be covered in open wounds
                Wash your hands and shower
Wipe down gym equipment with the provided wipes that kill staph before you rub your bare lacerated skin against it

I've done this + bring a towel to sit ontop when I use the machines

                Lmao this bro got MRSA

its not MRSA, its not resistant to anything except penicillin

How often do you wash your sheets and towel?

towels are washed after each use with bleach, sheets are replaced 2-3 days.

Honestly I've never had issues with staph from the gym before, only thing I can place it on is the covid stuff, I avoid gym showers and I bring my own sanitizer for the machines since I know they water down the stuff they provide themselves to save money, I avoid their showers too

different strains do different things, is there just a general multi-probiotic to take that gives you a broad range of healthy bacterium?

Medical brainlet here but just want to double check that you’re washing your clothes and bedding (including pillow if possible) regularly really well. If it helps Lysol makes a laundry sanitizer add in that contains BZK that should help cleanse fabric, just make sure to follow the directions.

I got a very similar thing this year

I imagined it to be some covid reaction because I am not vaxed, when it came I took a horse dose of Ivermectin and it went away

And maybe some worms I might had
    Win win

But when I got under the sun was like I was a voodoo doll being sting by a milion needles

Never crossed my mind it could be from the equipments at gym

idk, ivermectin doesnt seem like it'd help, I've been exposed to covid a few times, I probably got sick once or twice but shook it off as a cold since it only lasted 2 days since I got vaccinated. I'm wondering if it is a covid or vaccine issue since it started around that time, ivermectin is for parasites tho I don't think it'd help covid caused immune issues or bacterial infections honestly, seems like a meme.

If you're taking a bunch of supplements (iron, zinc, vit D etc.) you could have low copper. Could also be copper resistant bacteria. Apparently vitamin B3 can also help.
