Stool is always too soft. Not as in liquid, that would be an improvement.

Stool is always too soft.
Not as in liquid, that would be an improvement.
As in that cursed midpoint between solid and liquid where it's too soft and sticky to form a turd, so it's like mud, it doesn't all come out properly leaves a ton of mess. What can I do?

>Eat more fiber
I eat a ton, consistently more than the RDA. Tried various difference ratios of soluble vs insoluble fiber, didn't help.
>Try eating less fiber then
Tried that too. Even tried zero fiber. Made no difference, consistency is always the same.
>Exercise and lose weight fatty
I exercise daily and I'm in good shape, 23 BMI

What the frick is wrong with my intestines, IST? why can't they produce a solid turd?

Usually a coffee and two eggs in the morning.

Grab something from the diner, like a lasagna or some spagett, or McDonalds on the way home from work if I couldn't get something earlier.

A microwave dinner and maybe two beers tops.

Maybe a pizza or some wings on the weekends, it depends.

Step it up to just straight up eating fiber.

    Crushed psyllium husks.

    >Crushed psyllium is a form of soluble fiber made from the husks of the Plantago ovata plant. It is often used as a dietary supplement to promote digestive health and manage constipation. Here are three potential benefits of crushed psyllium:
    >
    >Improved digestive health: Psyllium absorbs water and swells as it moves through the digestive tract, which can help to soften stools and promote regular bowel movements. This can be especially beneficial for people who struggle with constipation or irregular bowel movements. In addition, psyllium can help to bulk up stools and reduce the risk of diarrhea.
    >
    >Heart health: Some studies have suggested that psyllium may have cholesterol-lowering effects, which could potentially reduce the risk of heart disease. Psyllium may also help to lower blood pressure and improve blood sugar control, both of which are important factors in heart health.
    >
    >Weight management: Psyllium may help to reduce appetite and increase feelings of fullness, which could potentially aid in weight loss. It may also help to slow down the absorption of sugars and starches, which can help to prevent spikes in blood sugar levels and reduce the risk of weight gain.

Probably the actual problem is something to do with your diet or your stomach being fricked up, but you didn't come here if you were wanting to see a doctor or significantly alter your diet, so there's your stopgap solution fren

That's what Metamucil is, right? Tried it
      More poop, but consistency unchanged

        >More poop, but consistency unchanged
        How the frick?
You just slowly add more psyllium until you see the change you need, "consistency unchanged" literally doesn't happen unless you didn't properly try it

If this is the level of non-effort you're putting in, enjoy your soft-serve poops for life because nobody else is going to fix it for you

man I'm putting in a lot of effort bc this is drastically affecting my quality of life, as I said in the OP I've experimented with multiple huge diet changes to no effect

To keep increasing Metamucil I'd have to take way more than the recommended amount, you think that's a good idea?

            Anonymous

Frick metamucil, just buy crushed psyllium husks. Dirt cheap, pic related

Mix it with water, like a teaspon in a glass, and wait 10 minutes. It turns into a slimy goop. You drink it before your meals.

If after a few days you don't see the desired effect, you slowly, gradually increase the amount you imbibe until you start seeing results. If you need to go beyond 2 teaspoons 3 times a day, it's time to see a doctor.

I don't know what metamucil sets as their recommended max dosages, but it's absolutely set with maximum "cover our own ass" and "protect ourselves from lawsuits by idiots who overdose without slowly testing their limits" in mind. You probably need to be more in-depth with your solution than what their b***h-basic over the counter solution provides.

You eat modern food, you won't poop properly. That's just how it is. You can keep eliminating stuff but it won't make a difference so long as your diet is full of modern food.

Here's how it is for modern food addicts. If you eat that shit with lots of fibre you will be constipated. If you don't eat enough fibre you will have soft liquid stools. If you cut out the fad modern foods and stick to traditional foods like meat, fish eggs etc you will poop perfectly every day without trying.

    >Eat more fiber
    >I eat a ton, consistently more than the RDA.
that's your problem dumbass. stop eating so much fiber especially soluble fiber. you're not digesting your food properly because fiber is absorbing what little enzymes and bile your body makes. take a liver/bile stimulating supps like milk thistle or something and reduce your fiber intake

Shit consistency is a function of fiber (increases hardness but also water if it's soluble fiber), water (increases stickiness or runnyness) and fat (increases sliminess and floatiness). If your shit come out like wet cement you basically just drink too much water for your fiber intake, but it's OK, you aren't getting any health deficits from that, until the point where you do actual runny/watery shits. Pretty much anything between diarrhea and constipation is ok, whether it's wet cement or rabbit droppings.

I do drink a shitton of liquids, maybe you're right that it's worth experimenting with a bit less
      thanks

I used to drink 6 liter on the daily and I don't feel like it made my shit very loose. I imagine the intestine is extremely efficient at absorbing water, so I wouldn't blame water intake for this.

We probably don't need to tell you this OP, but probably be careful about whatever "workarounds" you use to fix this. If you have to go to great lengths to hide the problem, you may actually have a severe issue that you need to address at the root of it all. Don't hurt yourself just to avoid an unpleasant experience with a few doctors, OP

i ruined my guts from years of goyslop and inactivity but i went vegetarian, started working out intensely, and taking psyllium fiber. my shits changed immediately and started pooping out all kinds of stuff, much of it like you described but many other forms of exotic poop. i pooped a long thin rod that looked like a snail pastry. i pooped out twisted rubbery turds that were completely hydrophobic, i pooped out stuff that looked and felt like thick mucus but was made entirely of poop. i pooped out stuff that looked like waterlogged masonry.
now they look mostly normal but it took 2 years of strict diet and intense exercise before my turds stopped looking like freak show exhibits.
i tell you this story because at no time was i overweight, i was skinny before and skinny afterwards, never lost more than 10 pounds never weighed more than 180 at 6'4'' but the volume of strange poop that came from deep inside my body through my bloodstream and liver and out my intestines was astonishing.
