I really hope you mean you've stopped conventional deadlifting because hinges are great for your glutes and hamstrings. Being good at hinging makes you better at picking stuff off the floor. Hinges Cary over into your squat work very well.

I don't do any form of exercise that aims the lower back. I see no use for it. I used to do t bar rows but stopped that too

Your fear of hurting your lower back will just make it even more fragile.

But what do I need it for anyways?

Girls like developed glutes, but even aside from women, why wouldn't you want to balance your physique? You'll look moronic if you have big quads nut no glutes.

Why should I care about this at all? I'm not a UPS driver. Obviously, it's important to be able to bend over without back pain or to pick up groceries, but even the slightest amount of DL training is well beyond what you need in everyday life.

        >what you need in everyday life.
You don't need to do ANY lifting to get by in everyday life. If strength isn't important to you, consider that hinging will round out your physique in less time than it takes to do machine work for your glutes and hamstrings.

Deadlift variations are some of the most productive exercises you can do.

      >one set
      Why?

Also deadlifts on leg day or pull day? And should I focus on volume or reps?

You don't need more than one set if you are training with enough intensity.
        >leg day or pull day?
        pic related.

My push day is FULL to the brim. Can't add deadlifts to it anon. Pull or leg?

Too much volume fricks me up though. Like my knees get fricked from too heavy weights while doing lunges

Does anyone else struggle to do more than one or two deadlifts at a time? I find I need to stand up and pause for 5 seconds or so mid-set.

Only if I'm pushing the weights higher, at comfortable weights I can pick that shit up all day

I had a fallen tree on the road close to my house. I picked it up and moved it a little so I could drive home.

After hitting 300kg/ realized how useless deadlifts are and how taxing they are on you, the best thing I ever did was to simply swap them for romanians which actually are more useful as a hinge movement. I still can 200x10 on romanian. And not to mention how fricking annoying is cleaning up after a heavy deadlift (and not time efficient)

I dont deadlift and squat less often because I do so much yoga and hiking and I could care less what those lift numbers are. As long as my legs are pretty strong I dont care. I squat 2.5plt, used to do 3plt, but not in a rush to squat 3 again

It's a meme exercise that normies love. It's useless for muscle building because it hits too many muscles at once. Growth happens through isolating as much as possible. Basically you can see growth still, but it's sub-optimal

This, plus conventional deadlifts don't take any of your muscles through a full ROM

I will stop doing any strength exercise when I hit 4/3/2/1. Risk of injury too high for how useless strength becomes past a certain point
