>he aimed for '1/2/3/4' as if it wasnt just some made up bullshit, as if the human body was randomly designed/evolved to lift those arbitrary pounds/ounces using numbers and metrics that humans made up. Humans could have made a 30lb plate instead of 45 and retards would still aim for it as it sounds cool
>he lost functionality and is now 'strong' in some pushes but looks ass compared to untrained normies and chads
>every sprinter, swimmer, gymnast and calisthenics normie looks 100x better and is far more functional, healthy and synchronous
>he thinks reaching '1/2/3/4' will sounds badass when he posts about it on IST
Bulking is the mistake. Take your time with lean gains even if it takes years. Don't ever "bulk"
1/2/3/4 makes 0 sense
I got 1/2 in like 12 weeks, but then spent 3 years getting 3/4
Meanwhile my cousin got 3/4 in 12 weeks, but 10 years later still cant do 1/2.
If you’re weak and you’re insecure about it just say that lmao
Even if he’s coping the OP is correct in that it’s not the same for everyone. Those numbers are meant to be a good goal to shoot for that most should be capable of hitting within 2 years. Everyone’s body is different (proportions + fitness backgrounds could make one a shit bencher but a great deadlifted for example)
I started with the bar I was so weak at first, in 1.5 years I had 2/3/4 X5. I grew obsessed with strength like a gay I had never once trained certain muscles directly like core biceps shoulders and figured I would try OHP. First day doing OHP I was telling 1pl8 despite never having trained it. I’m sure bench+ Chest accessories I was doing just had insane carry over for me. But I’ve yet to meet anyone with a similar story of starting at the bar X10. Everyone I’ve met is similar to you and your boyfriend, they may have a 6pl8 deadlift but they can’t bench 225. Most competing powerlifters I’ve met typically put a big focus on just one lift while barely training the others
yes... that's the point? standards like these shouldn't be biased towards a specific body type. imo the perfect strength metric should also account for bodyweight relative strength with something like pull ups.
>lightweight baabay
>yep, i can outlift you.
>why dont women like me
>1/2/3/4
yes i learned to count in kindergarten, why are people so obsessed with counting from 1-4 on here? does everyone who posts 1/2/3/4 just want us to pat them on the head and tell them they did a good job for learning how to count to 4?
calisthenics are just as arbitrary as plate numbers since everyone is different weights and heights. you can lift and do swimming or sprinting or whatever gay exercise you want OP. get the cock out of your mouth and just hit the gym once in a while. lifting isn't going to kill you
Not really. Regardless of your height and weight, you should be able to do a muscle up and other movements
I know this dumbass OP is a meme but if anyone has a decent book on tumbling and gymnastics I would like the recommendation

1/2/3/4 only counts if you're under 170lb
>every sprinter
Sprinter do monster leg workouts. They basically train legs like a bodybuilder or even a powesharter. They also train upper body hard too. Pic rel is Linford Christie when he won gold in the Olympics 100m. You think he got that body with pushups or "functional strength" bullshit?
>swimmer
They spend an absolute fuck ton of time in the pool working working like mad to perfect their craft. They basically live there. They also lift on top of that. You're gonna do all that as a regular person instead of just lifting a few times a week? Oh and they're also tall hyperchad built dudes with shoulders as wide as a door frame, so good luck if you're not that.
>gymnast
Yeah elite gymnasts mog me and everyone else on this board. No shit. Extremely hard work for many years plus top tier genetics will yield that result regardless of what training style you pick. You might as well be comparing us to LeBron or something. (you) are not going to look anything like that doing ring work at your local HS football field off the field goal bar.
>calisthenics normie
Look like ass in 99% of cases. Super ripped YouTubers who roid and do pull ups on camera for a living aren't "normies". That DYEL guy you see at the gym doing doing some weird as inverted BW row shit and making no gains is a "calisthenics normie", not Chris Heria type dudes. Guys like him are even bigger outliers than guys who lift and look like David Laid.
Every professional athlete is juiced to the bone so your argument is stupid.
It doesn't matter. Roided or not you're going to be better off doing some strength training vs no strength training in virtually all contexts.
The point is sprinters train their legs hard with heavy weights, not with calisthenics or "functional" exercise whatever OP was trying to cope with. Rep ranges and movements (front squat vs squat vs leg press etc) aside, they're strength training. Every sprinter can bang out 3pl8 squats with ease.
>They basically train legs like a bodybuilder
>Pic looks like he spends 1.5 hours doing chest and back, 45min doing shoulders and arms, and then does a 10 minute jog for legs
>10 minute jog for legs
you're joking right?
I'm talking strictly looks here. The guy obviously has powerful legs, but they look practically untrained compared to his massive upper body.
There's no way he "trains legs like a bodybuilder". He trains his legs for speed, not hypertrophy, and it shows.
Yeah not him but idk how you are this stupid
>They basically train legs like a bodybuilder or even a powesharter.
The lifting regiments are more similar to oly lifters, football players, or even cross fitters. None of that slow, big weights shit.
>seething dyel general
i just train strenght because lifting big weights is fun
your fault for being retarded if you trained for strength and somehow thought you'd gain good looks or functionality, whatever that means, not everyone has your goals gay
Weak person cope. 1/2/3/4 is not some milestone, it's the baseline for not being hilariously weak.
All those "functional" guys you mentioned who actually are somewhat decent at their sport and look good would hit 1/2/3/4 like it's a joke once they got the technique down.
