You can't really put him as the strongest considering that he cheated to win WSM. I'd say Martins or Oleksii.

        Anonymous

It's not cheating if your sponsor writes the rules. Eddie Hall didn't cheat in 2017, he had the company he owns 33% of cheat for him.
Making the power stairs high and the implements high enough that you have to be 6'6 to properly deadlift them up instead of upright rowing isn't cheating. It's just WSM at it's finest.

          Anonymous

Its cheating because the organizers of the event conspired with athletes to give two individuals an unfair advantage, it perfectly follows the definition of cheating. In terms of it being typical for WSM you're right which is why you can't use the results for an absolute determination of who is the strongest. In fact it might be the worst show to use as a measure of who is stronger considering that there is open corruption and cheating.

the events like the yoke and bus pull were lighter than even local strongman shows. that doesn't favor any of the guys that "its rigged for".

clearly it does since Tom and Luke picked the events out. There is video evidence confirming that they cheated.

Having a heat made up of C-listers vs having a group that would have all 5 athletes qualify over-all on performance.
Also the Stoltmen have been training the exact same events, which makes or breaks 'Tims Spergman's performance. All the athletes that aren't sponsored by the organiser were informed about the exact events 2 days prior to the competition.

alll the competitors get the exact events like 8 weeks out. we even knew what the events were 8 weeks out. extra time doesn't even help much since they're not coming on cycle till about then anyway

This is a blatant lie. All the strongmen that upload their training have been training the events for months. The earliest I saw was Pa O'Dwyer, and Brian has three or four videos alone of behind the neck pressing and car deadlifting.

              Anonymous

he picked those out and started training for them months before Martins did. I'm pretty sure Martins didn't even do car deadlifts before the event. How come he lost to Martins on all the static events at the Arnold? Its because they all found out about the events at the same time.

                Anonymous

Yeah, I'm sure he went out of his way to get the organisers to put in a lift that hasn't been seen in 25 years. And if you want to talk about rigging events, the Arnold was quite blatantly rigged for Martins, as he's now Rogue's (literal) posterboy.

                Anonymous

He asked to put it in because he knew nobody trains them and if he started before the other found out it would give him a head start. Also other than the natural stone Martins needed one point on to win the show i'm not sure what your complaints are. Tom was tied for third to last behind Rob the homosexual Kearny. The only people he beat were some unknown Russian guy and JF Caron who detached his quad on the third event.

                >The natural stone is literally Odd's stone and the only one who had any practice on it is Martins
The Arnold is always rigged for whoever their posterboy is. It's Martins now, and before him it was Thor, and before that it was Z.

                >excellent squatter but a middle of the pack deadlifter
he's not, his deadlift is on par with Toms. He placed the same in the Arnold for squat that he did on the deadlift at rogue.
                >Odd is the judge for the dumbbell and gives him a rep that absolutely should not have counted
moron Tom fan tier cope. It was fine and even if they took it away he still would have won
                >The frame is literally just a grip event, the one thing Martins is known fo
the timber carry has been in the show several times
                >The natural stone is literally Odd's stone and the only one who had any practice on it is Martins
only legitimate complaint but Martins needed one point on it to win. They could have swapped the stone for one 50 pound heavier and he still would have won.
Even if you want to believe all of that Tom got steamrolled by every decent competitor that didn't detach his quad. He was near last on every event, it was a pathetic display of what he is when Colin Bryce doesn't hold his hand and let him cheat.

Come on now. He's better at WSM style lighter shows, that's all. Thor was fricking wank at the Arnold for years before his 3 in a row stretch.
Tom isn't the strongest man on earth though, I agree. He won a contest called World's Strongest Man, but the Arnold is the real test of strength. WSM is a test of who is the most consistent strength athlete

Tom only ever does well at dynamic events that favor height. Anything static and he's worse than average. Brian Shaw was always a static beast as well as a dynamic beast, although Zydrunas was even stronger.

Taller people are in general stronger because they have higher potential to gain lean mass, but that's heavily dependent on individual genetics (and access to juice). MacAskill was probably very strong, but I doubt he was stronger than Louis Cyr for example

height=/=strength, take it from a tall guy such as myself. A good example is 7'2" Oliver Richters, he roided up to a decent physique for his height but still cannot squat 2pl8 properly because his levers are shit for the lift. In general, frames don't endlessly scale up (due to energy expenditure) and very tall people are often thin-framed relative to their height.
To answer the original question, that MacAskill giant was an e-statter, likely just a lanklet who wanted to live in piece but got that giant stories fabricated around him

Height doesn't equal strength if you are a lanklet. Also, the human body isn't supposed to grow beyond a certain point: your heart, skeletal frame, etc. won't be able to keep up.
