I actually can't sumo. I've tried a few times but it just feels to alien to me. Like I can do sets of five at 415 conventional but even a mere 3pl8 sumo I feel off balance so I haven't really tried it since. I just like that it completely triggers morons like you lolololol

Shortens ROM so "people" can copelift.

It's part of the cancer that is killing powerlifting. ROM minmaxing will be the death of powerlifting.

      >Pre-2010
      >Powerlifting is a meme that is all based around equipped lifting
      >Normies have no care for it because it's all done by fat, swollen, hypertension, red skinned, guys in super tight squat suits
      >No public attention

      >2010s
      >Raw Powerlifting takes hold
      >Giant, jacked guys that were LEAN lifting huge fricking weight
      >Guys like Dan Green inspiring tons of youth in the ANIMAL CAGE
      >Normies have huge draw to this because, despite these numbers and physiques being essentially unnattainable to any regular person, they "look" like a regular person still (just more jacked)
      >It's also more relatable because there is no gear
      >All you need is a belt, some wraps, and maybe some squat shoes, that's it
      >Powerlifting becomes "the thing" to do in gyms and people from hardcore to commercial gyms were all doing the big3 lifts
      >Early days of fitness youtubers
      >Golden age, really. Little in-depth knowledge, just memes, and fun

      >Late 2010s to now
      >Limits are beginning to be reached for Raw lifters
      >Need a new way to increase weight
      >ROMMAXXING becomes a thing
      >If we decrease rom, we can increase weight
      >Movements become comical farces of what they already were
      >It no longer becomes relatable to the masses
      >No longer is it a jacked guy benching big weight (something anyone can try and emulate)
      >It's now a former cirque du solei performer contorting their body into a pretzel in order to move the bar 2 inches while it still being considered a "good lift"
      >It's now completely unrelatable again
      >Same with Sumo deadlifts
      >Loses normie appeal
      >Loses relatability
      >Loses audience and money

Your sport will NEVER be taken seriously.

I get that it can't outright replace the traditional deadlift but dont sumos target your glutes and hamstrings differently?

The only people who talk shit about sumo are weak homosexuals who can't do them. Seriously though I think it has alot to do with proportions and body mechanics, some can lift way more with sumo, some with conventional, do both and max out on which ever one feels best

There's nothing bad about them, they just aren't deadlifting.

Like imagine I told you I set a new squat PR in a smith machine. Cool, that's nice, you'll probably get stronger, but it isn't a squat. There's nothing wrong with doing them, but don't pretend it's a different lift.

    They're just gay.
Imagine if someone gave you their decline bench instead of flat bench when you ask "sowuddayah bench?".
That's a sumo puller, and they're all gay.
They're like trannies competing against women. Everyone claps and acts like it's fair, but everyone knows it isn't and hates you.

Let's be real, deadlifting in general is popular because dummies feel cool loading the bar up with alot of weight.

I'm not saying it is a useless workout but it gets way too much attention these days.

      >I lift sumo because it works my hams and ass more
      >see seething about sumo

Sumo or correct deadlifts- I just think both get way too much attention these days. I'm not saying they are useless just that they shouldn't get equal billing with squat or bench press. The reason I think they are so popular today is people have fun and feel cool loading the bar up.

Watch any woman deadlifting and 99 times out of ten she will be pulling sumo.
Sumo is the girls deadlift. Sumo is the gays deadlift. Sumo is the manlet deadlift. It's fricking weaksauce bro. Conventional or bust.

Theres nothing wrong with it, it just makes people sperg out that there's two ways to deadlift, although they should not be counted towards as the same exercise, much how you wouldn't treat front squats the same as you would treat normal squats.

I myself am considering trying them out on some alternating days, although I am happy hitting 315lb x 3 reps @ 160lb 5'10" while on my summer bod cut using traditional form.

My core doesnt tolerate tradlifts so I do sumo. Way less burn out on my lowerback, letting me go until my grip strength gives out. Good for strengthening pelvis.
