"seed oils" are different from just the seeds:

    >to make 3 gallons of sunflower oil you will need around 35lb of sunflowers
    >hexane and other chemicals are used as a solvent
    >It has been estimated that refined vegetable oils extracted with hexane contain approximately 0.8 milligrams of residual hexane per kilogram of oil (0.8 ppm).

Volume of seeds compressed down to a smaller size as well as removal of all naturally occuring fiber and potentially many of the vitamins.

However all that said a lot of the dipshits on this board that shit their pants about PUFAS because a single study they read made it seems scary and meanwhile every other study says the opposite and they also don't understand how having a 1950s diet with saturated fats leads to a 1950s style heart attack at 40 instead. Add to that the fact that they delude themselves into thinking they'll avoid all ails by eating a "whole food diet", yes whole foods are a BETTER choice I also opt for them, but we're talking about a late capitalist hellscape in which all our food is factory farmed including the "while" ones so corners are cut.

PUFAS : Mountain out of a molehill.

      >there are no consequences to having suddenly over 15% of calories ingested by the average American from non naturally occuring PUFAs that are only extracted through modern industrial methods

    Whole seed:
    >protein
    >fiber
    >vitamins
    >minerals
    >taste good
    >tiny bit of oil
    Seed oil
    >just oil
    >very few vitamins aside from vit E maybe
    >no minerals
    >no fiber
    >produced by dubious mean involving various detergents and fining compounds.
It’s honestly pretty simple to see why we don’t like sunflower sneed oil
