Mostly carbs. It's 200kcal for a tuna roll and only 11g of protein. Get the yakitori or yakiniku and have the roll on the side as a bonus

      This, too much rice.

        >too much carbs and not enough protein
        >22% protein
        >125g of protein per 2,272 calories
        >not enough protein
I'm not a weeb or anything but you do realize that sushi is a meal and not a protein supplement?
also the amount of rice varies wildly by the person making it so the ones in the nutrition database are kind of worthless. I can easily find an entry for a roll that has significantly better macros:
        https://www.nutritionix.com/food/salmon-roll
does that mean I'll get that if I order a salmon roll? probably not but generally the macros for sushi are not bad at all.

I eat 200-220g of protein a day and 2,500kcal. A sushi roll is a side dish with okay protein content for me instead of a full meal. Like on the same level as beans

5'11". I'm just eating 1g per pound of lean body mass. I got a scan done and I had around 200 pounds LBM. Strongman type structure. I've been lifting for little bit though and I upped the protein a smidge just in case.

lmao, you're fricking your kidneys, dude. If this is all true and that is your LBM, you're 100% roiding.

No roids man. I don't think I'll ever need them. Even before I lifted people were asking me for fitness advice based on how stocky and muscular I was and I would outperform everyone in gym class in highschool without trying. It's just God given and the only time I ever lost size in my life was when I fasted for extended periods. I got lucky on that part of thr genetics roll. Just wish I could lose fat easier. I have to starve myself to get decently lean

That's because excess protein is turned into fat and sugar.

Only in a caloric surplus does protein become fat

                And sugar.

                Anonymous

Unused sugar in the bloodstream is sequestered into fat cells to prevent high blood sugars. Even in an isocaloric diet it can be stored if too Much is consumed. Weight gain is another story, just because sugar is put into fat cells doesn't mean you'll gain

                Anonymous

                Exactly. You gain fat.

Not him but what is your point?
Yes, if you eat too much you gain fat. Regardless of it being protein or carb. What does caloric surplus have to do with this guy eating a shitload of protein

                Anonymous

My point is that excess protein is turned into sugar and fat. Not sure why other Anon posted something irrelevant as a response to that.

                Anonymous

Because excess protein is not really turned into fat unless you re in a caloric surplus, whereas sugar can be even isocalorically. Protein loses 25% of its energy being turned into glucose, and then more being converted to lipids, and on top of that the body doesn't preferentially store protein as fat, I had a point and you didnt seem to grasp it - you can have an excess without being in a surplus

there is no reason to have over 100g/day unless you're a noob that's trying to speedrun his noob gains.

5'11". I'm just eating 1g per pound of lean body mass. I got a scan done and I had around 200 pounds LBM. Strongman type structure. I've been lifting for little bit though and I upped the protein a smidge just in case.

you maintain that much weight with 2500 cals? That doesn't add up...

overall I think sushi suffers the association with the japanese who are not usually physically impressive i guess. They don't really eat sushi for every meal though. For a complete meal that's convenient to pick up it has a great protein %

I don't move around much and nowadays the furthest extent my cardio goes is an hour of walking and an occasional jog if I'm feeling energetic. I used to be really athletic when I was in my early 20s and was eating around 6,000kcal per day, but I got an office job later and my NEET crashed into the ground

it's twice the RDA. it should support a lot of activity
unless you're eating 0 carbs 100-125g is where diminishing returns set in severely

                Anonymous

The RDA is how much you need to just function. When you're actually exercising or looking to grow that's when you need to increase the amount.

yeah, by DOUBLING it. you're not very bright are you
if 50g can maintain 160lbs of your dyel body how much do you really need to add an ounce of muscle in the same timeframe? would you say 150 additional grams? what planet are you on where that makes any sense?
you got shilled by fricking BIG CHEESE lmao idiot

                Anonymous

Yes you fricking do. It's a lot harder to increase in mass than just maintain it. There's plenty of studies done on optimal protein intake for muscle synthesis and you're dying on the hill of RDA for what? Because you can't afford to get more protein into you? Because you don't want to accept you might be doing something that isn't optimal? There's no downside to hitting the higher end of protein intake since you'll just shit it out if you go over. Eating under means you'll stay stagnant and limit your gains.

I am only 5'8 and about 70 kgs of lean mass without being huge. So if he is indeed a self-admitted strongman/bloatlord build it's entirely realistic that he could be 200lbs of lean mass if he's only slightly taller

Man I fricking love japanese food, despite having such fervent hatred for current day onions anime.

    The key is :
    >order at least 35% raw protein (salmon or tuna sashimi)
    >get a few side protein carbs combos like salmon cream cheese rolls, and tuna cucumber rolls.
    >fill up with a nice probiotic filled miso soup
    >snack on seaweed salad and shredded veggies for more micros, vitamins
    >get a japanese omelette if you feel like consuming egg protein

I live in a port city so my fish is always fresh. Their food is always so fresh, so clean and light.
The key is to avoid condiments like onions sauce and mayo based sauces, and only go for wasabi and the vinegars (rice wine, etc).

It's the perfect lean bulk food. Just hits every spot.

Good. I need to replenish my electrolytes as a physically active, well hydrated individual. Sea mineral such as iodized sodium, magnesium, potassium present in sea weed/kelp, fish and sea food are a perfect bio-available, and endemic way to provide me with a source of electrolytes.

The future of humanity is in green marine life.
