There is a saying that goes back to Milo of Croton: lift a calf everyday and when you grow up, you can lift a cow. The story goes that Milo, a famous wrestler in ancient Greece, gained his immense strength by lifting a newborn calf one day when he was a boy, and then lifting it every day as it grew

If he's so great, why'd he get bit on the butt?
He only trained lifting cows but never lifting lions
That lion ain't biting his ass.
>trains 18 years to get a 5 year natty physique
yea....im gonna stick with the weights buddy
It doesn't take 18 years for a calf to fully grow up, moron.
Notice he gets taller as he ages, probably 6'4 at the end.
Us manlets so not have this blessing.
good luck keeping up with that progression
Is this assuming the cows aren’t being pumped with steroids to rapidly inflate size?
just well-fed with enough protein
I doubt any man could lift a fully grown cow.
>t. farming family so this is according to my expert opinion.
>samegay
I can't believe I am actually about to search youtube for "man lifting cow", what is my life.
where does this qt weigh in at?
That's a small heifer, notice they don't show her breasts.
>heifer
>The female is first a heifer calf, growing into a heifer and becoming a cow. Depending on the breed, mature bulls weigh 450–1,800 kg (1,000–4,000 pounds) and cows 360–1,100 kg (800–2,400 pounds).
I would say it still weighs 400-650 pounds. I wonder how many people ITT can lift and walk with that much on their back
OP here I think this might have actual viability considering how effective progressive overload is
the calf will grow more quickly than your body can adapt to the load. it would be like pyramiding up from the bar to 4pl8 on bench going up 5lbs every day. It will be too easy and the transition to too hard will be too quick to adjust to or else people would be benching 4pl8 as beginners.
Principally it makes sense, it's just progressive overload, but it's too poorly modulated to actually work
Bullshit have you tried lifting a cow everyday?
No, but others have. You're welcome to try it, but it doesn't work.
Record yourself lifting a cow everyday pussy you wont
Why would I do that?
So you can prove your point
I don't have a cow nor any place for a cow. You are the one who made the original claim, which is a positive claim, so you demonstrate it.
Also https://www.strengthminded.com/could-milo-of-croton-really-have-trained-with-the-bull/
I know it works, but you challenged my claim so you must show evidence
You don't actually know that, your basis for the claim is a literal myth. Never been replicated. Just think about it rationally; there is nothing mechanically unique about a cow or ox that would enable progressive overload to that extent of that sort of movement pattern. In fact the weight distribution is much worse than a barbell lol
It’s been passed down for generations as a scientific article so I know it to be true. Yet you cannot find a way to prove me wrong
They never tested for roids back then
Simpler times
So I actually have kids (shocking I know, but yes, I have done the sex) and the number of dads that won't pick up their kids after about age 5 is hilarious. My oldest is about 100lbs and I still make sure I toss her around once in a while.
Based dad. If I have kids I want to be able to carry one on both of my shoulders
My great grandmother owned a pig ranch and she could tie a grown pig
her brother could lift a donkey over his head on a dare
too bad my family is so modernized now
frick knows what happened to that ranch too
bet they sold it for a boat ride to America
frick modernity
Have you ever seen a powerlifter lift a cow?
No?
Do powerlifters do everything they can to get big?
Has no powerlifter heard this story?
OR
Is this story, maybe, just a story?
How many people do you know grow up alongside non steroid injected cows?
No one?
Does the average power shitter own a cow or lift heavy animals?
No?
>you are pic related
